The cooling station

Starting major memory playback with: Diary entry of certain day

{July 1st}

Hallelujah, a month has past. Well, more like two weeks have past, or was it three? I was too tired to write something on this yesterday, to write something recent I mean.

I'm gonna make it simple for now. I took Gordon, who takes Faust, who takes Mephisto, out on a hunting trip. Despite the boy being a nuisance, he did so much more than all of us combined. He led us to a grazing spot, making this feast possible, and that's all on him.

Honestly, I'm...quite proud of him. Guess my mission is complete, to turn the cutie into a softie. I swear, if he reads this, he's gonna be real pissed, I'm sure.

I forgot to tell the rest about his achievement yesterday, I was too deep into my past to acknowledge. But maybe that story is happening now, since I see Gordon and Faust leading a storytelling bonanza out in the middle of camp. I could see a bunch of people gathering up in the middle, not bearing tails and such, maybe Americans? It seems the people who chastised natives are more appreciative. Then again, they only care about pragmatism and their jobs, not the message it brings.

I'm gonna stop writing for now, I could see Gordon making his way here... My goodness...

Continuing playback with: Memory event recreation

[Hosea pockets his book just in time as Gordon came and kneeled beside him. He still wears that jacket, and the clothes of a former detective back at the station. Only, except, he wears no hat, revealing his flat blonde hair.]

Gordon: "Hosea! Come on, you gotta share some few words of appreciation."

Hosea: "Alright, alright, hold your quadruple legged horses."

[Hosea then went and followed Gordon, where both run across the street, and slowed down as they near the campfire just in the middle of camp. Mephisto was the star of the show at the moment, albeit literally upfront and such. His grey unzipped hoodie somehow puts a smile on Hosea's face. Perhaps a child wearing something military like is not his cup of tea.]

[AJ is not among in this audience, nor is Talulah, Sheriff Will, or the main cast of the Union. Yes, even Gordon's best friend. It's the Americans of the group, those that are familiar with Hosea, and probably don't know jack shit about Mephisto.]

Faust: "Ah! Hosea! Come on, tell the rest what happened in that forest."

Hosea: "This kid, is more than just a healer. He led us to a grazing spot full of hoofed animals, as if they all gathered there as their last safe haven. We came in, and scattered them all, but we did take out a lot of em', which resulted in a feast just yesterday. We owe that bounty, to this kid alone. If he didn't came back with that, we would've been eating squirrels for breakfast, lunch, and dinner."

Willard: "Well I'll be damned. Kid?" *Both him and Mephisto made eye contact. He shoots him a thumbs up and a smile.* "Good job."

Adler: "You know? I thought of you as an annoying brat, but... Fred here said that, we shouldn't interfere with a child being himself. It depends on how he is guided, on how he is raised, and don't take this as an insult, but now I see why you act that way. You're amazing in my book now."

Fred: "We shouldn't act as if this is a revelation... This special boy has worked himself into the bone, and in such a young age, to keep us alive when we decided to jump off a two story building. I feel...like he's not appreciated enough, and with hard work, it's not a shocker he prefers to act that way."
