Night Changes

CHAPTER 4

  All the players cheered as we brought the trophy to the dressing room. Seeing everyone rejoice together was a damn good scene. And just to double the happiness,management called a big party to celebrate this great occasion.

  In the evening of the party I wore a pretty  lavender dress that went down to my ankles. It wasn't something fancy but it looked great on me, especially with the makeup on and my hair neatly tied to a bun.

The party had a lovely ambience and everybody seemed to be enjoying a lot. They decorated the whole hall with blue and red balloons according to our team color, I guess. The place looked beautiful and the big projector kept in the middle kept showing clips of our matches of the tournaments including our moment with the trophy with a title above: WELL DONE DILLIWALON. The management did a really good job in arranging such a big party in such a short time. Just as I was done exchanging pleasantries with everyone, I found Shreyas approaching towards me. He looked stunning with his Black suit and white shirt. He didn't wear a tie,instead he wore a bow. Butterflies! Time to jump!

"Hey! You look beautiful,"
"You too,Shreyas,"
"Wanna dance?"
Now I can't say no to you,can I?

He took my hand on his and put the other one around his shoulder. He placed his hand on my waist and started moving me  around. We danced keeping our gaze fixed on each other.

Suddenly there was a change of expression on his face and he pulled me to a corner. Then he sat on his knees and pulled something out of his pocket.

Oh sweet cheese and crackers.

Inside the beautiful velvet box,there was an even more beautiful ring studded with diamonds. He came prepared.

"So..we have known each other since three years. The first day I saw you across the dressing room, you caught my attention. Over the years, I've got to know you and as time flew, my admiration towards you increased profoundly. You're beautiful, talented, confident- you're perfect. And- I cannot but approach you because you can't believe what you do to me. So.. Will you trust me with your heart just as I have given it to you?"

God what do I do now ? What should I say? Where's my fire brigade Ritz when I need her!

After a long pause, I gathered my thoughts. I looked at the devilishly handsome Shreyas looking at me with impatience. Taking a shaky breathe I tell him,
"Yes,"
Now I can't say no to you,can I?

"Oh god oh god I can't believe it! You are now officially in a relationship Aly! I'm so happy for you!" Ritz screamed from the other side of the phone as I called to tell her everything about tonight.
 
"Thanks Ritz. But I'm so confused. Did I do the right thing by saying yes? I mean I don't think I'm ready for a relationship just yet. I have my life,my career -so much to take care of..."

"Aly, you're not marrying, okay? He just asked you for dating him. You like him, don't you? Then just take a chill pill. See if things work out. If he is the man for you. We'll figure out other things later,"
I felt relieved at her worda. She's right.  We aren't marrying, it's just a relationship.

Thankfully, Ritz is there for me. What would I have done otherwise? God..I love her so much!

Lying on my stomach,I kept gazing at the beautiful ring and thought about Shreyas. He was exactly like the man of my dreams. Restless, adventurous, risky. That's what interests me. Safe is boring. It's the uncertainty that makes life worth living. Shreyas has to be the perfect man for me. He's exactly what I want, right? RIGHT??

Aha!So..Shrey has proposed our girl then? Hm..what do you think about Shreyas? Did Aly did the right thing? Do you like them together?
