"Hey Jack, are you ok?" Ellie asked, Jack kept walking around, she was completely lost in her thoughts and she didn't even notice that Ellie came in and that she was looking at her, she was too worried for Gibbs "Jack" Ellie said trying to catch her attention but it didn't work. After some minutes Jack stopped walking and looked around, she noticed that Ellie came in "Hi.." Jack said "Is everything ok?" Ellie asked and went near her "Yes" Jack replied, the look on her face was saying something else, something completely different, she still had some tears in her eyes, she cried without even noticing it and at that point faking that everything was ok, was completely useless "Jack you aren't ok...you shouldn't even be here, you took some days off and the fact that Gibbs has been kidnapped...if you want to talk I'm here and I think that you need it" Ellie said, when Ellie said "Gibbs" Jack looked around, that was all she heard of what Ellie said and she started thinking again, thinking about where he could be, she had an absent look on her face and she was staring at the wall, all the images of her nightmares were coming up to her mind again, those nightmares were becoming real and she didn't want to arrive at the point of finding Gibbs dead, she wanted to see him alive...to be able to say to him how much she loved him and everything that she couldn't say to him, those nightmares were slowly destroying her, especially in that situation, she didn't want to believe that all that was happening, that Gibbs was in danger and that she was in her office and she wasn't able to do something to help him.
"Jack...you ok?" Ellie asked again noticing that Jack was completely lost in her thoughts and catching her attention was pretty difficult, almost impossible, for sure she was thinking about Gibbs, Ellie was hoping that this time Jack would've answered with the truth and not with a lie...after some minutes Jack looked at Ellie "No probably not..." Jack said, Ellie finally obtained the answer that she wanted, the truth "Do you want to talk about it?" Ellie asked, Jack looked at her, she didn't actually know if she wanted to talk about it but probably...well, for sure, that would've helped at least a little bit.
"Jack..." Ellie said still waiting for an answer and she wouldn't have given up until she received an answer, until Jack talked about how she was feeling, after some minutes Jack sat on the couch and Ellie sat near her, Jack had her head full of memories with Gibbs from the first time that she met him til when she saw him for the last time...and she was hoping that that wasn't the last time, Ellie was looking at Jack still waiting, from what she heard Jack and Gibbs were together the night before and who knows what happened "I don't know..." Jack said, Ellie didn't talk because it seemed like if Jack wanted to say more "I should've stopped him...I knew that something was wrong...but I let him go anyway..." some tears started running through her face, Ellie hugged her "You let him go because you know that he can go through everything and we'll do everything to find him as soon as possible...we'll find him alive, Jack" Ellie said while she was still hugging her.
