She wanted to wipe the tears but couldn't, Jordan was taken away and had a shower to get all the blood off. She was put into a gown and Will went to examine her. The young doctor had taken a light and looked for any wounds.
Her back was clear of any and all injuries, her back was clean he started looking over her legs, they were clean. He started doing her arms and hands. He noticed something on her hand.
"Jo, what happened here" Will saw what looked like a small cut on her palm.
"A piece of glass cut me" She knew where he was going with this. "Will please, I need you to promise me. You guys will look after my dad"
"You're not dying today Jordan. You're not dying for a very long time, you faced death before and came back. I know you're scared honey but today is not the day you die"
What Will wouldn't do to hold her and comfort her at this time, Jordan had just cried. She knew she was as good as dead with this deadly bacteria strain. It would be a matter of time.
"Will..Will please. Please I need you to promise you guys will look after my dad. I need to know he'll be in good hands when I'm gone" Her voice cracked.
The young doctor had bent down to look her in the eyes, it was clear she was terrified but he also saw something else in her eye. She wasn't ready to give up.
"Jo the only promise I'm making is that today, you're not gonna die. I will do everything in my power to make you better and you'll go back to your dad. Alive and healthy. That is my only promise"
Jordan was taken from the room and placed in quarantine, Will had gone out to see Sharon and Ethan with a woman. Sharon had seen Will looking very upset.
"What's wrong?" Sharon asked.
"The patient that was just brought in, it's Jordan. There's a chance she could have gotten infected" Will explained, his voice full of pain. He still heard Jordan's pleads in his head.
"Oh no. I'll call Hank and tell him"
Will looked and saw the woman and gave a small smile. "Hi Andrea"
"Will Halstead?" Andrea replied with a small smile.
After the quick introductions they had started talking about the containment and treat, once that had been done Andrea had looked to Will again to see the sad painful look on his face. She had gone to him.
"Lost another one?" She asked.
"Not quite," He answered. "My last patient, Jordan, I've known her since she was 11. She may have gotten infected"
"That's terrible. How do you know her?"
"She's my brother's boss's kid. We often keep an eye on her. Jordan is a sweet kid, sweet as can be but stings like a scorpion. She hadn't had an easy life, her mom died when she was a baby, her brother died a few years back that just about killed her. She spiraled badly out of control, she used, drank, self harmed, she almost died. Eventually she got clean and sober. Then she kept losing people, these two people she thought of as sisters, Lexi Olinsky and Erin Lindsay. Lexi died from injuries in a fire. Erin got a new job with the Feds in New York. Right after that her boyfriend at the time, Derek broke up with her. And then her godfather, Alvin Olinsky died, he was stabbed. And now her current boyfriend, Mason, died from the bacteria outbreak. Jordan thinks she's gonna die and instead of trying to fight, it's like she's giving up. Like she's done"
Andrea was just about in tears when Will finished. She knew Will was holding something back. "There's more instead there?"
He gave a nod. "She pretty much begged me to make her a promise. The promise was to make sure her father was looked after if she dies"
