Jordan- 16
Josh eyed Kelton with a raised eye, so this was the bastard threatening his niece.
"What makes you think I wanna be partners?" Josh asked.
"We can work well together," Kelton replies.
"I'm not helping the asshole who's threatening my niece. You can take that offer and shove it up your ass"
"You just made a big mistake"
"I've made them before"
Josh had walked away before he hit Kelton. Kelton glared at him, if he was gonna hurt Jordan. He's gonna hit her where it hurts most.
Meanwhile
Adam and Kevin were taking Jordan back to her father at the district, Jordan leaned against the door of the car. The two men didn't know how to address the situation with Josh.
"You two can ask whatever questions you have, I feel like I'm in interrogation" Jordan says.
"How long has it been since you've seen Josh?" Adam asked.
"8 years. He showed up one day when I was 8 wanting to see me. My dad and Justin hadn't gotten along with him. Justin wanted to punch in the face that day"
"Why?" Kevin spoke this time.
"He said he'd wanna take me out of Chicago, away from my dad, Justin, my life. I've seen my brother pissed off before but not the way he was that day"
"Why was he trying to do that?" Adam asked this.
"He saw my dad having a dangerous job, wanted to take me from it"
"And he's not doing that now?"
"He wants to make up, I haven't seen him since that day. I believe him that he wants to make up. Me and my dad, were all that he has"
"Your mom didn't have any family?" Kevin asked softly, not wanting to upset.
"As far as I remember my grandparents were dead, as is my mom. Josh is the only family I have on my mom's side. I wanna get to know him"
"Are you sure he's not gonna hurt you?" Adam asks.
"If he does, I'll deal with it. But I'm serious neither of you breathe a word of this to my dad. I'll tell him when I'm ready"
The two just nodded, the last thing either of them needed was to be in the middle of Voight family drama. Hell that was the last thing anyone needed, anyone knew to stay far back from that. Especially when it started to hit the fan.
"Hey Jo, who were you calling earlier?"
"Oh just Theo, something about wanting to hang out this weekend"
"Does little Jo have a date" Adam teased.
She scoffed and laughed. "At least I can get a date, when was the last time you had one"
Kevin couldn't help but laugh and gave an 'oh'. "She got you bro"
"Oh it's on now kid" Adam looked back at her.
"I'm not the one scared of a mouse" Jordan shot back playfully.
"At least I'm not scared of a clown"
"Hey, I told you clowns are murderers"
They all had chuckled and arrived at the district, Jordan hopped on Adam's back. The three had headed inside and up to the squad. Hank turned the white board so his daughter wouldn't see anything she shouldn't. In his eyes she was still the same little girl who'd run through the squad and they'd hide the cases from her.
