Life As A Lovegood

Chapter 17

I was walking down the street in the village and I could feel people looking at me, I knew they were whispering something along the lines of  "That's one of those mad girls that live on one of those weird houses on the hill" or "That's one of those Lovegood weirdo's" and obviously it's not pleasant to have such things whispered about you but I've come to the point in life that it doesn't bother me. I don't see reason to go against what they say because being different isn't so bad, it just means that you're yourself and you don't care what others think which is something I tend to live by. I was going to the bakery to get some fresh bread, When I walked in the bell tinkled "Hello Miss, What can we do for you today?" the baker said "Oh um I'd just like to buy some bread." I replied, the Baker went over to his display thing and took out a loaf of his bread "That'll be two pounds please" he said while placing the bread in a bag and onto the counter, I fumbled in my purse looking for my Muggle money, when I found it I held my hand out to the baker, he took it and I walked out again "Enjoy your bread Miss!" he said "You too!" I called back, As soon as I was out the door I realised what I had said 'You too' It's so embarassing when I do such silly things therefore I hurried up the street and back home.

When I got inside I was suprised to see Dad standing cooking something "Dad? What are you doing?"I said disbelievingly "Making breakfast" he replied, I was taken aback but glad all the same that  I didn't have to make breakfast, I placed the bread on the table before I went upstairs, I was going to go up to my room but I seen Luna laying on the floor in the sitting room on her stomach "What'cha up to?" I asked "Oh I'm painting" Luna said "Oh cool!" I said, happy Luna wasn't avoiding everyone anymore, I went upstairs but decided to take my book downstairs and read it, I'm reading this muggle book at the minute called The Lord of The Rings which is simply amazing.Muggles are so fascinating, the things they don't believe in, that's why I've decided to take Muggle studies. I sat on the sofa, cross legged, and began reading "Amelia?" Luna said "Yeah?" I responded "I'm sorry" "For what?" "For shutting you out! You tried to help me but I just ignored you! I didn't do anything when you've been doing everything for the past few years!" She cried "It's alright Luna, Don't worry about it." I said and smiled

When I woke up this morning I decided to take a nice cold shower so I did that. Once I was out of the shower I started to get dressed, deciding to wear black leggings, a blue t-shirt and a denim jacket. Once I was dressed and my hair done into dutch braids because I find them so pretty. I'm going to meet Harry and Ron in Diagon Alley today you see, So I was very excited. I went downstairs and decided not to have breakfast, I wasn't very hungry see, So instead I went outside to water my plants, It's always so sad to have to leave them for Hogwarts because I'm always scared Dad will perhaps forget to water them and then they would die, Which has happened before. Once I was finished I went inside to find Dad and Luna sitting at the table having breakfast "Did you eat Amelia?" Dad asked "Yeah" I lied knowing that he would try make me eat something but I still wasn't hungry "Okay then, We'll be leaving in around half an hour so do whatever you need to do" He said "Okay!"I called, running upstairs to my room to write some letters.

In around thirty five minutes I heard Daddy call me "Amelia! Time to go!" I grabbed my backpack from the corner of the room in which was everything I would need. I ran down the stairs as quickly as I could because I was very excited as I mentioned above. When I got downstairs Luna was standing fastening her coat while Dad was looking in our floo pot "We're almost out. I'll have to get more today, do remind me to do that" He told Luna and I. I took a handful of the floo powder and stepping into the fire, I threw it on the ground and cried "The Leaky Cauldron!" I felt myself be engulfed in the flames and spin round and round before I stopped at the Leaky Cauldron. I waited there for Dad and Luna and when they came we went out the back and into Diagon Alley, Immediately I spotted all the Weasley's (With their hair it isn't difficult) Ron noticed me and waved, I waved back and began to walk towards them "Hi!" I said once I got there "Hi" Ron replied, Then Dad and Luna were at my side, It appeared the other Weasley's had now noticed our presence, Mrs. Weasley smiled warmly at me "Hello dear, You must be Amelia?" She asked and smiled "Yes, I am" I replied, Also smiling. I noticed Dad and Ron were introducing themselves to each other, Ron looking at Dad wearily, Suddenly Percy grasped my hand "Amelia! How wonderful to see you!" He said pompously, shaking my hand, With that George bowed down low to me "Yes! Truly delighting!" Fred pushed him out of the way "Absolutely corking!" he said, everyone burst out laughing except for Mrs. Weasley who glared at the twins. A little while after that I noticed Luna seemed to be talking to Fred and George and looking interested in what they were saying. Then Mr. Weasley turned to me "Amelia?" He questioned "Yes sir." I said, I don't know why but Dad's always seem more intimidating then Mum's, Even Mr. Weasley who had a very kindly looking expression, soon the grown ups were talking to each other, Luna and the twins were still talking, Percy had now disappeared, Ginny was looking around the place and I was talking to Ron, sharing what had happened over the summer "So where's Harry?" I asked Ron "Oh I forgot to tell you! Harry blew up his aunt!" Ron said "How!?" I asked "I dunno, Dad heard about it in the ministry." He replied "He hasn't been expelled has he?" I asked worriedly "No, but Dad heard he was staying in the leaky cauldron" Ron said "Shall we go find him then?" I asked "Yeah probably" Then we talked to our parents about it and we all went into the leaky cauldron to ask about Harry "Excuse me?Is Harry Potter here by any chance?"I asked Tom,the barman "Well he's staying here but he's just went out for the day"Tom replied "Oh okay!Thanks very much!"Ron said.After that we decided to go out and we would eventually find Harry.So we went to Flourish and Blotts but he wasn't there,nor was he in Madam Malkins or any other shop for that matter,In the end up we all decided to get some ice-cream from Florean Fortescue's Ice-Cream Parlour,It was there when we seen Harry "Harry!"I called "HARRY!"Ron yelled and we both started waving,frantically.

***Quick part in Harry's point of view***

"Harry!" "HARRY!"I heard from two different voices and turned around,And there they were just outside Florean Fortescue's Ice-Cream parlour,Ron looking incredibly freckly and Amelia looked tanned,both waving frantically ,I made my way over to them,grinning. "Finally!"Ron said as I sat down "We went to the Leaky Cauldron but they said you'd left and Flourish and Blotts and Madam Malkin's but-" Ron started to say but I cut him off "I got all my school stuff last week"I explained "Wait,How'd you know I was staying in The Leaky Cauldron"I asked them "Dad"Ron said,simply.Of course,Mr Weasley,who worked in the Ministry of Magic would have of course heard all about the whole fiasco with Aunt Marge "But did you really blow up your Aunt?"Amelia asked as both her and Ron burst out laughing "Well yeah"I said "I'm surprised you weren't expelled!"Amelia cried "So am I!Forget expelled,I thought I'd be arrested!"I said and looked at Ron "Your dad doesn't know why Fudge let me off?"I asked him"Probably because it's you isn't it,Famous Harry Potter and all that.I hate to think what'd happen to me or Amelia if we blew up one of our aunts.Mind you if I had of done it they'd have to dig me up first.Mum'd have killed me.But anyway you can ask Dad tonight,We're staying at the Leaky Cauldron too tonight!"Ron "So are Luna and I,That way we can all go to Hogwarts together."Said Amelia

***Back to Amelia***

"What've you got there,Amelia?"Ron asked,turning to me and looking at the bags sitting beside me "Well I'm taking more classes than yous aren't I?I'm taking ancient runes,muggle studies,transfiguration,charms,Herbology,potions,care of magical creatures,defence against the dark arts,divination,astronomy and muggle studies"I said "Do you expect to eat or sleep at all this year Amelia?"Harry said and Ron sniggered "I know!But I just couldn't choose,though,they all sounded so cool!"I said in protest "Do you have a need for ancient runes?"Ron asked "Well-No-Not really"I responded "I've still got ten galleons and a sickle,I really want to get a cat this year and I was looking up about them and they're only eight galleons in Magical Menagerie"

So we crossed the street and in we went,I began wandering around the cages looking for a cat,I decided to get a large,orange cat and I asked the lady that was working there if she could get it for me,I had just paid when the cat leapt from my arms and landed on Ron's head,knocking poor unsuspecting Ron to the ground and it began spitting and hissing at Scabbers "NO,CROOKSHANKS,NO!"Both the ladies in the shop yelled in unison,Scabbers went running out the shop,Ron and Harry chasing him,I turned to the lady "Excuse me,Could I return this cat?Thats my boy-"deciding I didn't need another lecture from a middle-aged lady that I'm too young for a boyfriend I just said "Best friends rat,see,and it's not very fair on him"I asked hopefully but the shop ladies laughed,They actually just laughed! "Oh god no,Your the only person that'd ever buy that cat"They said and shooed me out of the shop holding 'Crookshanks' as the ladies in the shop had called him,I ran out after Harry and Ron and when I got to them Ron exclaimed angrily "You bought that thing!?" "I know!I had already paid and they wouldn't let me get my money back and choose another cat!They said I was the only person that'd ever buy him!They wouldn't let me!I tried!I really did!"However Ron wouldn't see reason and stalked off
