I headed up the stairs to the divination towers, beginning to feel nervous about the time travel, I would have to do it as soon as I got to just outside the divination room. I walked all the stairs until I got there when I pulled the time turner out from under my robes and turned it once. Everything started to go all funny and weird, people were moving all around me at the speed of light. Eventually everything slowed down so I knew I had done it successfully, I had time-traveled. I had never even knew it possible until McGonagall told me, I thought it was simply stories but, it turns out, it's real. I was standing outside the divination classroom, I bolted down the stairs to successfully make it to ancient runes, I arrived second only to Pansy Parkinson. I managed to stop myself from sighing in annoyance, Pansy is Draco Malfoy's best friend (Although, I suspect they're secretly going out, or else they just like each other romantically) "Ah you must be Miss Lovegood" said the Professor "Yeah" I said "If you'll take a seat next to Miss Parkinson, please" he said, Pansy was about to let out a cry of annoyance, I could tell, but she bit her lip instead. "We should have three more students joining us then we shall begin" said the Professor. In the next five minutes a Ravenclaw girl entered along with a Ravenclaw boy and then Hermione Granger came in, she sat in the back on her own as there was no other seats.

If I was quite honest I found the class rather boring, I could have just picked up a text book and learnt it myself, I might keep at it for a while but if the work becomes too much I'd say I'll quit it. Pansy wasn't all that bad if I'm being honest here. I feel like she's annoying when she's with Draco and I probably annoy her when I'm with Harry. We would be talking then we would remember we're meant to hate each other and stop again. If she's willing to be nice I think we could be friends. However, I highly doubt she would swallow her pride as a pure blood and actually be friends with me, for she considers my family 'blood traitors' which is very silly.

When the class was over I checked my watch, eleven forty two, I had only three minutes to get to the divination tower. I threw my books into my bag and began speed walking in the corridor and quickly turning to a run on each stairwell or corridor I knew there would be no teachers or the head boy and girl. I'd like to be head girl someday, well, maybe not, it's a lot of responsibility and you couldn't get into any trouble. Perhaps a prefect. Ron's brother Bill had been a prefect and his whole job is breaking into vaults. I arrived at the divination corridor just in time to see my other self vanish. I caught my breath then calmly and collectively walked up to where Lavender and Parvati were standing. No one else was there yet. As I walked over Parvati called out to me "Hello Amelia" I smiled "Hi Parvati, Lavender" Lavender gave a small little wave. I stood talking to them and slowly a stream of students formed. The last people to come along were Harry and Ron. I said goodbye to Parvati and Lavender and went to talk to them. Before I left Lavender said "Do you want to sit with us in class?" I nodded "Yeah sure"
I left to talk to Harry and Ron "Amelia where's the door to this place?" Ron asked. We all looked around, Harry finally spotting a trap door on the ceiling "Sybill Trelawney, Divination teacher" he read "How're we supposed to get up there?" In answer to his question the trap door suddenly opened and a silver ladder was lowered and ended at Harry's feet. It went silent on the landing "Ladies first" Ron said, grinning at me. I climbed up, Harry following then Ron, then the rest of the students. We came into a very strange classroom, there was at least twenty little tables with pouffes and chintz armchairs surrounding them. It was lit dimly, all the windows were closed with curtains drawn and all the lamps were draped with scarves and shawls. The room was extremely warm, cause of the burning fire which was heating a kettle and it all smelt of perfume. There was shelves running around the walls of the room, they were all littered with crystal balls, feathers, playing cards, candles and a countless amount of teacups.

"Where is she?" Ron whispered. Suddenly a voice came from the shadows of the room "Welcome, How nice to see you all in the physical world at last" the voice emerged completely, there was a very thin lady with glasses that were so thick they magnified her eyes. I noticed lots of beads, bangles and bracelets hung from her wrists. "Sit my children, sit" everyone sat on either one of the armchairs or pouffes "Welcome to Divination, my name is Professor Trelawney. You may not have seen me before. I find descending too often into the hustle and bustle of the main school clouds my Inner Eye." The room then went so silent you could have heard a pin drop. "So you may have chosen to study Divination, the most difficult of all magical arts. I must warn you at the outset that if you do not have the sight, there is very little I will be able to teach you. Books can take you only so far in this field..." at this everyone in the room glanced at Hermione, who looked very startled. And there I knew it, Hermione would quit the class. Well, I think she will at least. "Many witches and wizards, though talented enough they are in the area of loud bangs and smells" "jean seamus" i giggled that statement made me think of George and Fred "It is a gift granted to few" suddenly she looked at Neville "You, boy, is your grandmother well?" She asked "I-I think so..." Neville stuttered "I wouldn't be so sure if I were you, dear" Neville gulped "We will be covering the basic methods of Divination this year. The first term will be devoted to reading tea leaves. Next term we shall progress to palmistry. By the way, my dear, beware a red-headed man" she suddenly shot at Parvati, who looked at Ron and edged her chair away. "In the summer term," she went on "we shall progress to the crystal ball- if we have finished with fire omens, that is. Unfortunately classes will be disrupted in February by a nasty bout of flu. I myself will lose my voice. And around Easter one of our number will leave us forever" there was a silence, I couldn't help glancing at Hermione "I wonder, dear, could you pass me the largest silver teapot?" She asked Lavender, who was closest to her, Lavender looked relieved as she got the teapot for Professor Trelawney "Thank you, my dear. Incidentally, that thing you are dreading- it will happen on Friday the sixteenth of October" Lavender trembled at this "Now, I want you all divide into pairs. Collect a teacup from the shelf, then come to me and I will fill it. Then sit down and drink; drink only until the dregs remain. Swill these around the cup three times with the left hand, then turn the cup upside-down on its saucer; wait for the last of the tea to drain away, then give your cup to your partner to read. You will interpret the patterns using pages five and six of Unfogging the Future. I shall move among you, helping and instructing. Oh and dear-' she caught Neville by his arm 'after you've broken your first cup, would you be so kind to select one of the blue patterned ones? I'm rather attached to the pink." Sure enough, Neville broke his cup as soon as he picked it up.

I looked around the room, deciding who to partner with. I could have partnered with anyone except Grace or Hermione, I'm friends with them all. But, I thought that Neville was friends with Dean and Seamus, who were partnered so I decided to partner with him. "Hi." He said as I came over "Hi, do you want to be partners?" I asked him "Yes, please" he said. I sat on the pouffe at his table. We both drank our tea. When we were finished we placed our cups upside down on the saucers like Professor Trelawney had instructed, then turned to get out books from our bags, Neville nearly knocked his cup off the table but I got my hand in the way to block it from falling "Thanks" he muttered, looking embarrassed. Once the cup had drained I looked at the remains of Neville's tea "This here... looks like some sort of sun, that means great happiness." Neville grinned at that "and there's something else, it looks like an anchor which means good luck in business and a stable love life and some sort of triangle which is unexpected inheritance! That was a really good cup Neville!" He smiled "You read mine now!" I said, he looked into the remains of the tea leaves, there's a coffin... that means a long sickness or death of a loved one..." I gasped "there's also a ring... and it has an R under it so that means marriage and the R is the initial of your future spouse" I grinned "and I think that's a pine tree which is contentment"
