Chapter 21

I pushed open my bedroom door and walked down the corridor until I came to the door which would lead me into the common room. I pushed open the door and looked around the common room for Cedric. I seen him sitting, reading, next to the fire. I went over and sat next to him "Look Cedric, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. You're literally like a big brother to me. And I'm just really really sorry." I said "It's fine" he replied "No, Seriously- Wait what" I said "I said, it's fine." He repeated "Cedric, I'm bisexual" I blurted out, I don't know why I did it to be honest "Really?!" He practically screamed, causing everyone to look around "What are you all staring at!?" I cried "You're bi?" He repeated more to himself than to me but I answered anyway "Yeah." "Me too" he mumbled, I jumped off my seat "I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! HA HA HA! I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT! I KNEW IT!" again everyone looked around at us and they must have been thinking I was crazy, I felt my face flush red and I sat back down. Cedric was laughing his head off "Merlin's beard, Amelia. You're a right laugh, you know that?" He half said half laughed "Yes, I'm awesome." I sarcastically boasted, Cedric rolled his eyes "Yes, all hail Queen Amelia, better than Merlin himself" I flicked my hair "I'm awesome" I joked "You could say that." Cedric said sarcastically "How rude! Right anyways, I've got to go" I said, standing up "Why?" He asked "Said I'd meet Emmie! Bye" I called while leaving the common room "Bye!" He said, lying back on the sofa

I walked up the stairs and outside over to the edge of the lake where I could see Emmie sitting. "Hi!" I cried, plopping down beside her "Hello" she said "So shall we go in?" I asked "Really?" She said, sounding shocked "Sure" I said, shrugging, my shoulders. Emmie waved her wand and my swimsuit lay beside me, she waved it again and hers lay beside her "How'd you do that?" I asked "Oh, I was looking at old letters my Mum had wrote to people and there was a spell scribbled down on a piece of paper so I took it and learnt it" she said "Oooh cool!" I said. We both changed into our swimming suits and then edged into the lake "It's quite warm isn't it?" Emmie said "Yeah it is isn't it" I said, submerging myself up to my shoulders. Emmie turned her back and while she was turned I splashed her. "Oh!" She cried, I laughed and ducked under water before she had a chance to splash me back. I stayed under until I could no longer hold my breath. As soon as I came back up Emmie splashed me. I lay on my back , like a starfish kind of. You know the survival position. "What are you doing?" Emmie said "It's relaxing"

We stayed in the water for about another hour before we decided to head back to school. Emmie went to find Rose and I went to the Gryffindor common room to chat to Harry and Ron before school would start again tomorrow. When I got there they were sat talking to Dean and laughing like lunatics. I went over to them "Hi!" I said "How'd you get in?" They all said in unison "Oh, Neville was there. He let me in" I replied, shrugging my shoulders. Dean stood up and went to sit with Seamus, Harry took the hint and followed. Ron was sitting in an armchair, I sat on the arm of it. "Is your hair wet?" Ron asked, I laughed "Oh, yeah. I was in the lake with Emmie" I answered and began braiding my hair so it would dry quicker. "Can I try that?" Ron asked me "What? Getting your hair wet in the lake with Emmie? I think not" I joked, Ron laughed "Noooooo! Braiding your hair" he said "You want to braid my hair?" Ron nodded "Go for it." He stood up behind me and started, first he pulled out the braid I had already started, then he started braiding the hair from the bottom of my head/my neck rather than right from my hairline, which is always how you should start to learn. I began to worry he would just knot my hair but he ended up doing a decent job at it. "Are you gonna leave it in?," he asked "you don't have to, I mean, I know I didn't do a good job so I don't expect you to keep it in" "No, I love it. It's really good, especially for a beginner" I told him "Really? You promise?" He asked "I promise"

"Do you wanna play chess?" Ron asked "Oooh! Yes!" He went to his dorm to get his chess set. Then we sat on the floor so that there was a table between us "Pawn to D5" I said to start the game "Pawn to D4" Ron said.

We played the game and I ended up winning. For once, Ron alwaaaaayyyysssss wins. Harry started watching half-way through and he says Ron just let me win but I can tell he didn't. Ron's too competitive to do that. Harry's just being annoying, he's not being sexist or anything he's literally just being annoying. After we finished the game I noticed that it was half past nine so I headed down to my common room. I sat there and chatted to Ernie and Justin for a good half an hour before I went up to bed. I got my pyjamas on (they're really cool, they're yellow with a black badger on. Everyone in Hufflepuff organised to charm basic pyjamas to look like them, it wasn't my idea I think it was a prefects?) then I sat chatting to Hannah for a bit then I lay down and went to sleep. My dreams were filled with humongous chess pieces (I don't even know. I'm confused)

When I woke up the next morning I checked my clock, it was half past six. I swung my legs out of bed, careful not to wake anyone, and grabbed both my uniform and my shower bag. I went to the shower rooms and got a shower before anyone else did. I dressed into my uniform there. I pulled on my tights, skirt, shoes, shirt, tie, jumper and lastly my robes. I don't see why girls have to wear tights and skirts. I'd much rather wear trousers like the boys get to. I brushed out my hair, pulling harshly through all the knots. I used a drying spell on my hair because I didn't want to have to go through the morning with sopping wet hair, then I pulled my hair back into a high ponytail. I threw my towels into the laundry basket. Then I got my shower bag and went to my dorm, I put it back into the cupboard beside my bed. I got my toothbrush, toothpaste and some makeup and went to the bathrooms, I brushed my teeth and washed my face. After that I put on a little bit of make-up. We're not really meant to but everyone does it. I put mascara on my eyelashes and put on a pink lipstick (which I had matched as close to the colour of my lips as possible so it wasn't very noticeable it just makes me feel nice) I returned to my dorm once more and put everything into my bedside cupboard before I went down to have my breakfast.

I sat with Cedric to eat my breakfast, there wasn't many people in the hall despite it being half past seven. Classes would be starting in an hour and a half, though, so most people like to get up between half seven and eight. I had toast and strawberries for my breakfast. The hall started to fill up with people, a low, tired rumble of chatter. When I was finished eating I went to my dorm and got my bag before I headed off to divination
