The very next day Lyra woke up feeling cold, looking behind her she didn't see Medusa's silhouette lying next to her, she felt the space where Medusa lays is already cold indicating that she's been up a while ago. Looking at the window she still see no ray of sun, but the birds are already singing there early morning songs.
Lyra slowly stood up and looked listen carefully... The cabin is extremely quiet, she was wondering as to where Medusa is, did she leave her? Did she look for some food? Lyra decided to stand up and look for Medusa herself to see if she could do anything, upon stepping outside the cabin Lyra heard the gushing of the water in the small spring close to there cabin, the sound of the water combine with the sound of the birds created a harmonious sound that relaxes her... She wasn't used to waking up in such a place, she was always used to hear her friends voice early in the morning... Speaking of friends, she misses Gwen dearly, since her father imprisoned her she haven't heard anything from Gwen, that was not like her friend, she wouldn't just leave her alone, It made Lyra worry that something bad might have happened to her dear friend.
"Your up very early." She was startled when she suddenly heard Medusa's voice from behind her, looking back she still couldn't see her silhouette due to darkness but she could feel her presence close to her.
"Ah, yes. It was very cold and I didn't feel you beside me." Her words earn a smirk from Medusa's lips
"Are you saying that your already attached to me?" She teased her making Lyra blush and look away. Medusa chuckle and shake her head, she then looked at the horizon to see the sun is already rising, she will prepare for their breakfast now.
" Come now, I'll prepare some bread and egg for our breakfast." She said pulling Lyra with her inside the Cabin, Once inside Lyra sats down and listened as Medusa move around the kitchen.
" Where did you get your essential needs?" She asked having the feeling or desire to get to know her companion better. She was curious to know her better because she acted very differently from what she heard.
" I go down in the city once in a while to buy the things that I need." Medusa explained as she make some dough for the breads.
" Ah! You must be really good at disguising yourself." Lyra said hearing Medusa chuckle, she still can't see her silhouette because there were no lights in the cabin yet.
" Yes, I need to be careful or else I might accidentally turn an innocent man or woman into stone. That would probably cause an uproar and panick within the citizens. How about you princess? Do you often go to the city too?" Lyra shakes her head no.
"I'm not allowed to frequently visit the city, I'm only allowed once in a while. Father prohibits me from going out the castle and interacting with other people." This caught Medusa's attention, she placed the bread in the makeshift oven before she sat down beside Lyra.
"Why is that? Is your father over protective of you?" Lyra bit her lower lips and looked down, but Medusa held her chin and made her look at her.
"My father... He doesn't really care about me, in fact he hates me for no absolute reason... He didn't allow me to have any friends because her thought I'm not worthy of any companions. People said father hated me because I was born weak." Medusa tilted her head to the side. She waited for her to continue talking.
"I grew up deprived of his affection. I was unlike my Older sister Alexandra whom he favored so much, she's strong and smart, while me, he called me a fool and naive girl, he said that I'm only good for making babies." Lyra wince at the memory of hearing those words come out of her father's mouth. Medusa lean closer to Lyra and placed her forehead against Lyra's.
"How could a man hate you so much? Have he seen you? How could someone come to hate a lovely maiden like you?" Medusa tilted her head to the side, she then pull Lyra closer to her.
"Maybe he is jealous of your beauty. I admit that even I, have envied you. My beauty back then is nothing compared to yours. Even a Goddess would fall in a fit of rage if they saw you or they will fall in love with you." Lyra gulp and shake her head, she doesn't want to get the attention of any God, especially Zeus. She's afraid of them.
"I do not wish to get anymore attention from the Deities, I don't want to became their pass time, I don't want to be discarded after being used." Medusa smiled and push away the strand of her hair that falls on Lyra's face, she tuck it behind her ears and admire the beauty a while longer.
"Then stay with me.... And I will protect you from the eyes of the Gods, stay here and you will never have to suffer their wrath. I promise to protect you against them." She said kissing Lyra's forehead, it was promis that Medusa had written down the stone.
OLYMPUS
Unbeknownst to the two below, that someone is watching them closely, the Goddess of Love and Beauty watches them with curiosity and excitement, she can't wait to what will happen between those two, and how will Athena react once she found out that her favorite human is missing.
"Don't you think it's cruel to do that?" She looks up upon hearing Hermes voice, he was also peeking down to the two couple of friends.
"What so cruel about it Hermes?" Hermes looks at her in the eyes.
"Your playing with their fates, your involving two innocent being to make your scheme happen all just because you were jealous and angry." Aphrodite scowl upon hearing Hermes words
"Since when did you became the God of Wisdom?" Hermes shakes his head and looked down again to see what the are doing, they were already eating their breakfast and talking.
"I'm just giving you a warning, it was never a good idea to mess with Athena... It could start another civil war and you are not just fighting with her, remember that blind girl is favored by not only one, but three Goddesses." After Hermes said that he left, Aphrodite just shrug and lay down on her bed.
" Who cares about their wrath." She murmured before she drinks her ambrosia.
