Medusa's mood had been sour, Hermes had totally ruined her morning for her, she even cursed for dropping most of the things she bought so she had to buy again some, she returned almost close to lunch she felt bad for Lyra she must be hungry she thought. When she opened the door she was expecting to see Lyra in the room but to her surprise she couldn't see her in the small room, panicked filled her chest as she looks around the room and see no Lyra, the bed where she laid is already been fixed, she quickly turns around only to bump into Lyra.
"I'm sorry." Lyra said almost falling down, Medusa was quick to move and grab her, she released a sigh of relief upon seeing her.
"Where did you go?" She asked her looking into her eyes who looks at her, Lyra smiled upon recognizing her and reach out to touch her face, Medusa closed her eyes allowing Lyra to touch her face.
"I woke up without you by my side so I got worried and went down to look for you, the owner told me that you left early in the morning, and said that I shouldn't probably walk on my own and just wait for you here. Sorry did I make you worry?" Medusa sighed and shakes her head pulling Lyra inside the room with her, Lyra sat down on the bed and waited for her to speak.
"I panicked a little when I didn't see you inside, I was worried sick that you went out on your own." She explained sitting in front of her, Lyra smiles again.
" I really am sorry, but I stayed in one of the room in this inn, a small room dedicated for the Goddesses, I prayed there for a couple of minutes." Medusa tensed when she heard Lyra said it, she prayed to her goddesses meaning they already have an idea that she was here! Before she could Open her mouth to scold her, Lyra beat her to it.
" I Know that you asked me before not to pray for them, but it just... I'm not used to it, I grew up in the temple and almost everyday I spend there I pray to them... I hope you can understand me." Medusa looked at Lyra's pleading look, her eyes were glassy as if she's about to cry and Medusa can't simply ignore her, so she stood up and held Lyra's face before she leans and put her forehead against her. She could smell Lyra's sweet scent of flowers and honey, she is the calmness after the storm, an epitome of innocence and life.
"If ever the Goddesses found out that you are with me I just wanted you to know that... I will never give you to them, I will keep you by my side no matter what it takes. Can you understand me?" Lyra was silent for a while as if thinking what she had said to her before she slowly nods her head, this made Medusa smile and she kissed her forehead.
"Yes I understand you." She finally replied, Medusa took a step back from her and started to pack their things, the longer they stayed at this place the longer they are exposed to danger.
"Are we going back now? I was hoping that maybe we could take a walk around the city while we are here... I wanted to hear the bands play at the plaza." She stop doing what she's doing to look at Lyra who looks at her with hopeful eyes.
" I don't know, we would be late if we stop there, I don't want to leave the cabin for too long." She told her as continue to pack their things.
" Oh, Okay okay." Lyra responded quietly, when Medusa looked back at her she couldn't help but smile because Lyra was pouting, she looks like a child, she shakes her head and looked at the things in their bag, being late for a day wouldn't hurt much.
" Fine, we will go." She finally said closing the bag she bought with them, Lyra gasp and grin widely before she threw her arms around Medusa and kissed her on her cheeks. Medusa was startled when Lyra did that, the place where her lips was placed started to tingle and she couldn't help but touch it and looked at Lyra wide eyed.
"Thank you so much!" Lyra said while clapping her hands in excitement.
"Your welcome." Medusa mumbled as her cheeks grew hot. Her heart is beating fast, she wonders if something is wrong with her.
HERA
Hera's brow twitches upon hearing the insults the Medusa had said to her and to her fellow Olympians, it seems that the hatred of the monsters for them runs deep through her veins, Hera could understand her somehow, she knows the feeling of betrayal she was all too familiar with having married to Zeus for millennium, but Medusa is taking every risk she can by keeping Lyra at her side, it seems that the Gorgon is smitten by Lyra, Hera couldn't deny the fact that Lyra is kind, and her kindness often drew people around her, she could also notice the connection that is starting to grow between the two.
"By the fates! Is this your plan?" She murmured looking at the two who's traveling back to the forest side by side, Medusa was correct, she could easily snatch Lyra away from her of she wanted to, but decided against it... She wanted to see something, she wanted to know what will be ending for this two. But for now she needs to stand in the middle to protect them both against Athena's wrath.
"Hermes!" She called, her voice sounded like a crackling thunder that shook the pillars of the Olympus, within seconds Hermes appeared in front of her.
"Yes you majesty?" He asked her while keeping his head low.
"Where is Athena?" She asked him again, looking back at Lyra and Medusa who sat down by the lake to take a rest.
"Resting my lady." Was his short answer, Hera nods her head and produced a scroll with specific instructions, she then gave it to Hermes who looks at it confused.
"Give that to her, tell her to follow what is written there." She told him turning her back against him.
"Keeping this from her means betraying her." He said looking at the scroll, Hera raised her eyebrow.
"I swear no alliance to the bastards of my husband, now go and take that to her." She commanded dismissing him. Hermes was left no choice but to vow and do as she told him to do.
