Over the next few days, Diana watched as her son became more attracted to his wife and was so glad that was happening. She watched as they played with the children and took walks together as they held hands and talked. As a mother, she hoped he got his memories back but if he didn't it was also good that they were making new ones. Especially him. He needed grounding and in her mind the sooner they became intimate again the better.
"Is there anywhere special you would like to go today?" Thomas asked Desai as he gathered his dishes then carried them to the sink after breakfast.
She nodded excitedly, "Yes, I would love to take the children to the zoo! I haven't been in ages and I so want to introduce them to some new adventures. They are so very inquisitive and are probably getting bored with the backyard and our little jaunts to the park. I mean as bored as 11-month olds can get."
He gave one of his ehehehe laughs and nodded. "Mum, would you like to go with us?"
Desai nodded and Diana said, "Yes, I would love to."
Desai got busy making sure the children had their sunscreen on along with their hats. For herself, she put on a pair of comfortable jeans, a vest, sandals, and a white wide-brimmed hat.
Thomas was dressed comfortably in shorts and a tee-shirt making sure to wear a cap to help cover the scar that was quickly disappearing on the back of his head as his hair grew back.
The children seemed to be enjoying themselves as they 'talked' amongst each other and said 'hi' to everyone! Desai smiled, they were so much like their father!
Thomas was asked many questions by lots of people, mostly about his accident and how he was doing. He politely answered, "I'm feeling great! Thanks for asking!" It wasn't a complete lie, he reasoned as he hugged Desai closer to him as pictures were made. He made it clear that they were on a family outing and would appreciate it if they were given some privacy. "Please no pictures of the children," he had requested.
They were walking through a wooded area, with Diana pushing the 'pram' and Thomas holding Desai's hand when suddenly something hit Thomas's face.
"Owww!" he yelled ripping his hand from Desai's grasp as he keeled over grabbing his left cheek. As he looked down he saw a piece of what looked like stale bread about the size of a 10 pence. He picked it up. "This is like a rock."
