Desai awoke with a start when she heard Thomas yell James's name and went waddling to find Thomas red-faced and James crying like there was not going to be a tomorrow.
"C'mere, my sweet," Desai coaxed James from behind Thomas's desk.
"Mama!" he cried as he got up from the floor and walked to her with his little arms reaching up.
"I'm right here, sweetheart," she said calmly as she knelt down to his level to hold him. "C'mon, love, let's leave daddy alone so he can get back to work."
"Papa yelled at me!" he cried and sniffled rubbing his nose with his hand looking more like his father with every action.
"You surprised, papa, my sweet, James, that's all." She looked up at Thomas who was clearly upset then she heard the laughter from the speakers.
"Sounds as if Desai is getting the situation in hand," Josh said.
"Josh?" Desai asked as she peeked around the corner just enough to see their friend.
"Hey, beautiful!" he replied. "How are you?"
"Getting as big as a house," she said. "Are we live?"
"No. I'll edit out the little exhibitionist," he said laughing. "You should have seen Tom's face! I think I'll keep that and send it to you," he said laughing.
She could tell that Thomas did not find it funny at all. He was becoming angry. "Josh, I'm going to take James to get some clothes on. Nice seeing you please tell Jennifer I said hello."
"Step out I want to see you," Josh encouraged.
"I'm still in my pajamas," she laughed as she looked at Thomas.
"Oh, come on – it's just me."
Smiling at Thomas and holding James next to her leg she stepped around so that Josh could see her as she wrapped an arm around Thomas's waist.
"Your hair is coming back in nicely. How far along are you?"
"Yes it is and she's six months gone," Thomas said with pride as he kissed her temple all his anger leaving him just as suddenly as it had appeared.
This was his family and they loved him and he loved them. Children would be children and James was more curious than the others and only wanted to be with his papa. "Listen, Josh, edit what you have to, but leave in as much as you can." Reaching down Thomas tenderly picked up James and gave him a kiss and whispered, "Sorry, buddy. You just scared me."
"'Mm, sorry papa," he said smiling at his father as he placed his small hand against his face.
"I love you, James." Then he whispered, "You are so very much like me."
"I love you, papa."
"You guys are making me tear up here. Love you, Desai. Tom do you want to finish up?"
"Yeah, yeah." Grinning he asked, "Would it be alright if James sat in with me?"
"That would be great!"
Desai gave both James and Thomas a kiss telling them that she was going to get dressed and find something to make for tea time. Once out of sight of Josh she wrote on a piece of paper: 'I'm proud of you!'
Thomas nodded and did his best not to tear up. "You have quite the family there, Tom," Josh said with pride in his voice.
"Yes, I do and I can thank Desai for that." He said with a mile-wide smile as he answered the questions that Josh asked.
"What's the influences that you rely on for Loki's style of fighting?" Josh asked as he made sure that James's face would be blurred out and yet keep the child in the shot as Tom answered the questions.
