****Tissue Alert****

Desai sat waiting for the technician to finish with Thomas's EEG then he would have an MRI performed as well as a memory test. They probably wouldn't find anything which was great, but why did he seem to take his anger out on her? Was it true that you take things out on those closest to you, those you loved the most?

During Thomas's last session Robert had talked to both of them and she had explained about what had happened and even Diana had told Robert what Thomas had done. That part was hard for Thomas to listen to.

"It was as if he didn't care about her feelings or what she thought. It was as if it was him that had lost something. I've never seen him like that before and ..." she looked at her son, "...it scared me. You shushed me. Something that you have never done before. You wouldn't give her or me a chance to talk until she lost her temper."

"Thomas, what were you thinking about right before you saw Desai that day?" Robert asked. "Do you remember?"

He nodded. "I was looking forward to running my fingers through her hair. When she gets it cut they always style it and trim it up and it becomes this long curly mass of tangles that remind me of when we first met." He looked out the window. "When I saw her ... at first I thought it was a joke ... until I saw her face. I knew she was in shock but my mind told me she did it on purpose just because she could. Because I always tell her 'don't get it cut too short'." He shook his head. "And I got mad. So mad that afterward, it scared me. I'm not the type of person to get that angry. I've been angry at fans, reporters, and paparazzi and have told them how it was going to be but not to the point of ... not how I did with Desai."

"Do you think that's because when you deal with those other people you know you're being watched publicly and with Desai, you're not?"

"I had not thought of the situation being like that. I know that I'm portrayed by the media as being this nice guy who always shows his best side and if I get asked questions that I don't want to answer I decline and walk away."

"However, in this situation, you initiated the argument instead of trying to be sympathetic when you said yourself 'she looked shocked'."

He nodded. "She had been crying before she came in the house. Her eyes were red-rimmed and puffy. My heart lurched when I saw her then my mind took over my mouth and instead of asking in a gentle way 'what happened' and given her the support she clearly needed I went into a rage."

"I'm ordering some tests and letting your neurologist know what's going on. I am also setting up anger management sessions with a specialist. They will be one-on-one. They can be virtual or face to face. They will call you with the details." He pulled out a small notepad and began to write titles of books on it. "I want you to either go to a library and get these or buy them. They are very helpful."

She pulled the small towel out of her purse, as he walked out. "Hey babe, bend down so I can get the rest of that out of your hair."

"Have we got time to go by your house? They performed the MRI, already," Thomas said as she gently removed the gel from his hair. Now that it was getting longer it was becoming harder to manage. Oh, the trouble of getting back to Loki!

"It's your house too, Thomas." At his expression added, "Yes, of course, but why?" she asked with caution.

"I want to talk to you alone, and we can't do that at home right now. Please, don't be afraid of me, Desai."

She nodded. "I'm sorry, Thomas."

He noticed she didn't say she wasn't afraid of him. "Don't – don't apologize to me," he raised his voice and noticed how she looked away. "I didn't mean for it to sound that way." He opened the car door for her then closed it after she put her seatbelt on.
