Thomas awakened with Desai facing him, her head tucked under his chin her left palm against his chest her right arm around his waist their legs entwined. She was warm and soft and he felt as if he were the luckiest man in the universe. He kissed her forehead and she moaned his name softly as she snuggled closer into his embrace.

He thought about what she had said about reincarnation and the soul; she had even gone on to talk about a specific article that had been written in the April 1907 issue of American Medicine that featured a paper by Dr. Duncan MacDougall, he made himself a mental note to read up on that later. He smiled, she read so much more than he did; so many different topics.

For now, he was content to hold his wife and be thankful. The past 48 hours had taken a toll on her and him to be honest. He could have lost her had she not been warned. They could have been involved in a serious accident last night had she not been warned. Whoever you are ...thank you for watching over Desai. You must love her as much as I do.

When Desai turned over he took the opportunity to get up and begin doing things for her. She had done so much for him it was time he gave back. He dressed in jeans and tee-shirt then out to the kitchen to help his mum with breakfast. He patted his father's shoulder as he said good morning then walked to the counter to pour himself a cup of coffee asking, "What may I help you with, mum?"

"You could scramble up some of those wonderful eggs you do so well, lovey." Looking at him she asked, "Did Desai sleep well?"

"Yes, surprisingly, she did. I think she was exhausted," he said as he broke the eggs into a bowl then began using a fork to scramble them into a frothy and light mixture. He was just about to grab the cream from the refrigerator when they all heard heavy quick steps then Desai being sick. "I'm going to check on her."

"I got this. Go," Diana said.

James added, "I'll help your mum."

When he entered their bedroom he could see that she had not made it to the toilet before she became sick. He grabbed a towel and began to clean up with her saying between heaves, "Baby – I'll – get – it."

"I've already cleaned it up and will call the maid service and have them come in today and then schedule a clean every other day. You do not need to be doing anything except resting." He passed her a wet washcloth as he used a scrunchie to put her hair up.

"I'm so weak, love. I feel like a puddle," she gazed over at him then down at herself. "I'm a mess."

"Well you didn't eat much and I think the pregnancy hormones have finally hit."

"I'm sorry," she said as she tried to raise herself off the floor. Thomas helped her to her feet and sat her on the toilet. "Stay right there. I know you want a shower, but would you rather I bathe you? I – I just – I'm not sure you can stand, darling and I do not want you falling." He wasn't sure what to say and he didn't want to anger her by making her feel worse than she already did.
