Rick and Jade walked in. A snobby middle-aged looking red-head was at the front desk. Rick looked at Jade with a familiar face. The face he made meant that he was going to sweet talk the red-head.
"Hello darlin'. What cha up to?" Rick fixed his hair."Excuse me? I don't need any of this." She rolled her eyes.
"Well... Darlin'. I need some info on this woman. Ya seen her?" Rick held up a photo of Sylvia.
"Maybe I did, maybe I didn't." She tapped her finger on the desk.
"I'll go look myself." Jade sighed.
"Yeah. She's in room 5." The red-head pointed to a room that read Miss Mumble.
"Who's Miss Mumble?" Rick asked.
"That's Sylvia. She mumbles all the time. That's just what we call her. She doesn't like to be called Miss Barter. Please... Do not upset her." The read-head frowned.
"What does she mumble about?" Jade pulled out her notebook.
"Something about a man killing her mother. Calvin was it? I'm not sure though." She said.
"You got all that Jade?" Rick looked at Jades notebook.
"Yes. It's all there. Let's go." Jade looked at her watch.
"Thanks darlin'. We appreciate it." Rick winked at the red-head.
"Call me Cali." The red-head rolled her eyes.
"Okay, Cali." Rick laughed.
Rick and Jade opened up the door that read Miss Mumble. A small old blonde woman sat in a rocking chair. She had dried tears on her face. She was mumbling.
"Hello, Miss Mumble. We are police officers. Need tah ask you a couple a questions, Kay?" Rick said.
"About?" Sylvia squinted.
"We don't mean to upset you, but---," Jade began.
"I'll handle this. Miss Mumble... Do you remember a Bow Miller?" Rick smiled.
"Oh my lord! Bow? Is that you?" Sylvia let her tears fall.
"Hello, dear. I believe that you owe me two apologies, no?" Rick smirked.
"Oh, I'm sorry for... You know. Canceling the engagement. And lying about my age..." She wiped her tears.
"Girl, you were ten years older than me? How come you didn't mention that before I proposed?" Rick blushed.
"Cause. I loved you. I didn't want you to dump me cause I was older than you. I mean..." Sylvia shrugged her shoulders.
"I was only 15 years old. You was 25 wasn't ya? Well, you didn't look a day over 14." Rick said.
"Oh, Bow. I'm so sorry." Sylvia frowned.
"Rick?" Jade looked at her watch.
"Oh. Well that's not why were here, Sylvia. We need to ask you questions that I know you won't like. How long has it been since you've seen Jakob Barter?" Rick asked.
"Oh... It has been about 30 years.." Sylvia replied.
"Why that long?" Jade said.
"I did not want to see any of my family after...." Sylvia looked at the ground.
"Ok. After what?" Rick held her hand.
"No! It was!?" Sylvia covered her mouth.
"Tell me! This is important, dear." Rick said.
"Daddy killed poor Nicolas. After he killed Martha." Sylvia collapsed on the floor.
"We need help in here now!" Rick yelled.
Two nurses rushed in. They helped Sylvia sit up again.
"What happened?" One nurse asked."She collapsed after we asked her a question." Jade explained.
"You didn't mention the name Jakob or Barter did you?" The nurses frowned.
"Yes. We need information. We are police. We're investigating the story of Mr. Jakob Barter. Know anything?" Jade put her hand in her left hip.
"No. But her therapist will. Here's her card." The nurse handed Jade a business card.
"Thanks. Mind if we come back tomorrow?" Rick asked.
"No problem. Do what you need to guys." The nurses walked away.
