Rick gave up. There was no use. He turned to Annie.
"Now what?" Annie frowned."We'll do what Jade would want us to do. She'd want us to keep going. We need to finish looking around." Rick replied.
"Okay... But I hope Ollie is okay," She sniffled a bit.
"I'm sure he is..." Rick sighed.
They walked deeper into the room. Then they heard creepy music playing. They turned around. They saw a woman playing piano. Rick raised his gun.
"Who... A-re you?" He managed to say.She ignored him and continued playing piano.
"Hey! Who are you?!" He was angry now.The woman stood and walked down the hallway. Rick was fear stricken. He had to remind himself to breathe! He moved one foot in front of the other and eventually, he was in the hall with the strange woman. The woman walked down the steps. Rick followed. He was right behind her now. He still held his gun, but loosened his right grip. The woman walked down the next set of steps and Rick followed. He realized she was leading him into the basement. This freaked him out. He also realized Annie wasn't behind him anymore. He walked down the basement steps. The woman (her back still turned on Rick), stopped in the middle of the creepy basement. Only a single light flickered in the room. Rick walked up to the woman. She started to hum the tune of the piano, and Rick eventually dropped his gun (by accident). The woman turned. Her facial features were horrid! Her nose was missing, blood falling from her eyes, her mouth stitched, her cheeks black and blue. Rick almost fell over. His arms shook and his hands were sweaty. Goosebumps threatened his skin. The woman had a permanent scowl. She put one hand out in front of her and Rick flew to the back of the room, his back slamming on the wall. A loud crack that sounded much like a whip, echoed in the room. Ricks back was broken which killed him instantly.
Annie was still on the third floor, too scared to go downstairs. The woman appeared again.
"NO! No.... No... Leave me alone," Annie fell to her knees and she covered her ears."Heheheh..." The woman laughed.
"God save me... Save my soul..." Annie prayed.
The woman screeched.
Annie stood up now. She felt way better.
"I believe in god and Jesus Christ! In Jesus name I pray, AMEN!" Annie said."NO!" The woman faded.
Annie silently prayed a thank you. She pounded on the attic door.
Jade heard it. She realized she'd been sitting on the floor bawling for the past half hour or so. Ken was no longer possessed, but passed out. Jade stood avid brushed her jeans off. She hoped everything was over. She saw the sun set through the filthy windows. She allowed a smile to form on her face. But, the smile disappeared when the walls turned a strange light brown color. They cracked and moved closer to her. She heard whispers. She plugged her ears. She didn't want to let her soul be taken. She knew she has been through way too much to stop going now. She picked up the bible. Again, she recited verses aloud. Then she heard Mr. Barters voice.
"It is your fault!!! You were too late! The last word that was spoken was shrill and sounded much like nails on a chalkboard."It's not my FAULT!" Jade hollered.
She continued reciting the verses. Her words were powerful. A face molded into the wall. Jade screamed. This was the scariest thing she saw all day. Her hands were very shaky now.
"You will pay!" The voice screeched.Jades words were getting more powerful. The strongest sentence was the last one. She paused, grabbed the holy water, and continued. She read the last sentence and sprinkled the water on the walls. The walls were about to crush Jade. She fell to her knees. Then, the walls moved back in place. Jade sighed and stood up. She tapped Ken.
"Ken..." She whispered.Ken rubbed his eyes. He was beat! He saw Jade and slowly sat up.
"Ouch? What h-happened?" He frowned."It's fine... I hope." Jade managed a small smile.
"Oh... I'm so sorry Jade. I came here all angry and... I yelled at the house. Then... Ech... The demon... Never mind." He shivered a bit.
"I'm glad you're okay now," Jade helped him up.
"Ollie!" Ken raced over to him.
Jade bent over and called to Ollie. He jolted straight up, smacking Jade in the forehead in the process.
"Oh sorry Jade! I thought you were something else..." Ollie gasped.Blood trickled down her nose.
"It's okay..." She said even though she knew it wasn't.
"ANNIE!" Ollie jumped.
Jade rushed over to the attic door and opened it up. She jumped down and looked for Annie. She spotted her sitting on her knees in the middle of the room. Ollie and Ken climbed down the steps after. Ollie raced over to Annie and cradled her in his arms.
"Ollie are you okay?" Annie sobbed."Mhmm... Are you alright?" He kissed her nose.
"Sort of." Annie replied.
"Annie.... Where's Rick?" Jades heart stopped.
"He... No... He followed this... Evil woman downstairs..." Annie recalled.
"RICK!" Jade sprinted down the stairs.
Everyone followed her. She raced down the basement steps. She looked around.
"Rick!? Where are you?!" She called.Annie went to the right with Ollie, and Ken went to the left. Jade walked to the back of the basement. There was Rick, laying against the wall with blood flowing our of his nostrils. Jade covered her mouth. She fell to her knees. He looked like he'd been dead for hours, Jade thought.
"Rick! No! I... We were supposed to come out if this alive!" She cried.Ken walked over. He too covered his mouth. He pulled Jade into a hug. He forced her to walk away. He knew it wasn't good for anyone to stare at something like that for too long. Annie and Ollie saw Rick last. Jade called the ambulance and police.
The ambulance arrived first. They carried Rick away on a gurney. Jade and the rest were taken to get checked out.
At the hospital, Jade got her forehead cleaned up, Rick was declared deceased, and Ken got checked out as well. Annie was perfectly fine, and Ollie just needed a band aid for a few cuts and scratches on his arms. Everyone came out okay except for Rick... Poor Rick. All he did was try to help the cause. The house was investigated, and Ollie said the house was cleansed.
Two years later, Ken and Jade were happily married, Annie and Ollie had their first child, and everything was fine. Jade was now a paranormal investigator, along with Ken. Jade was part time police officer too though.
I guess that's the end of their story then, or is it? >:)
