Jade drove home so she could get ready. She put on a sparkly purple dress. She stepped into her black high heels and curled her hair. Jade got in her Green Mustang and drove to the park.
Jade arrived at the park at 5:56. Ken was standing on the bridge. Jade walked towards Ken. Ken turned his head and saw Jade. His mouth fell open.
"I didn't know we were supposed to dress up! You look beautiful, Jade!" Ken gasped."Oh, stop." Jade smiled.
"I'm serious Jade. You look amazing." Ken blushed.
"Thanks. You look nice too." Jade said.
"Nice is all I get? I'm just kidding. Wanna go eat dinner?" Ken asked.
"Aw.. You don't have to do that Ken." Jade replied.
"Aww... Yes I do. Alaskan Steakhouse?" Ken wrapped his arm around Jade.
"Sure." Jade smirked.
Ken an Jade walked across the street to the steakhouse. It was warm inside. They sat at a candle-lit table for two. Ken ordered two steaks medium rare. He ordered one medium vanilla milkshake too.
"Aww that's my favorite. Your so sweet Ken." Jade hugged him."Thanks Jade." Ken returned the hug.
After they ate, Ken had a poem to read to Jade.
"The poem is called Deeply in Love: Seeing you makes me smile,
Being with you makes me happy,
When your away it makes me sad,
I notice that you feel the same,
So will you marry me?" Ken finished. When Jade looked down, she saw the ring he had in his hand. Jade covered her mouth. Jades favorite song Summer by Calvin Harris played. Jade's breath was taken away. She didn't know what to say. She loved Ken. She wanted to date him earlier but didn't have time because of her job. She still had the same job, though. Ken was still smiling. She wanted to say yes more than anything.
"I would---," Jade started.
'Ring Ring'
Jades phone rang.
"Hey. Take the call. It might be important." Ken patted Jade on the back."Thanks Ken. Be back in a sec. I'll txt ya if it's urgent." Jade smiled.
Jade unlocked her iPhone and answered the phone. It was Rick Miller.
"Hey, Rick? I'm kind of in the middle of something. Ken just--," Jade began."Look, babe. Whatever Ken did isn't as important as this. Sylvia is gone. I went back to see her and I told her Jakob vanished. An hour after I left, I got a call from Cali. She said Sylvia disappeared. I need you now. Tell Ken he's gonna have to wait." Rick told her.
"Okay. I figure she's at Jakob's house. See ya in 15 to 20 minutes." Jade sighed.
Ken walked outside. He frowned.
"Hey. If you have to leave, go ahead Jade. I understand." Ken kissed her head."Okay. Thanks Ken. Can you meet me at the coffee shop tomorrow?" Jade asked.
"Sure. Anything for you, Jade." Ken hugged her.
"Hey, at least we finished eating." Jade smiled.
"True. Kay, bye." Ken waved.
