Ken sat on a bench outside a run-down gas station. He looked at a picture of Jade in his wallet. He took out a picture if them together in a photo booth. He sobbed. He really loved Jade. He'd never move on. He loved her too much.
Jade told Annie she had to stay with her. Annie agreed fearing her life. Jade made sure Rick was always with her no matter what. Jade got in her car and drove to the station. Bill was waiting for her.
"What the he** is going on here?" Bill slammed his fist down on a table."There is something haunting the Barter family! I don't care what the he** you retards have to say but--," Bill cut Jade off.
"Your insane. There is no such thing as a ghost. Idiots. Who hired you?" Bill rolled his eyes.
"Excuse me?! Who hired me!? The best in town!? Who hired you!? An old blind lady?! Your calling me crazy? I've been through way too much in this department t of work. I've dealt with a whole lot. I'd know." Jade snapped.
"I'm just saying... You can't tell what a murder is when ya see one? This is a serial killer! Not a demon haunting the Barter's." Bill chuckled.
"I have the power to fire you. Is that what you want?! Huh?" Jade tightened her fists.
"You can't fire the deputy! Haha!" Bill cracked up.
"Deputy? I've worked here longer than you have and your... Deputy?" Jade felt betrayed.
"I've got a good place in this town." Bill squinted.
"And where would that be?" Jade snapped.
"I'm the bosses son." Bill walked away.
Jade felt like punching the wall. Rick held her close to calm her down. Jade stormed into her bosses office. Her boss was sipping coffee. Jade slammed a fist down on his desk. He was shocked to see her.
"Why isn't Rick or me a deputy? You hired HIM as the deputy!? Bill?! He is inexperienced!" Jade hollered."I'm sorry Jade. But what are you complaining about?" Her boss replied.
"He came in here and walked all over the people who have worked their butts off in this type of work!" Jade threw up her arms.
"I understand your concern but he's got it under control. Jade you weren't even my third choice." He shook his head.
"Excuse me?" Jade was shocked.
"Rick was my second choice. Then Karen Charley was. So yeah... You were my last choice. Only because you can't take crap from anyone. To be honest I was going to fire you a few days ago but changed my mind." He explained.
"Okay. My apologies sir." Jade stepped out of his office.
"No Jade. Wait! Mr. Canns She has worked the hardest out of all of us! She came to work after getting HIT by a TRUCK!" Rick yelled.
"I'll consider her next time sir. If I notice Bill not doing his job correctly, I will fire him and hire Jade." Mr. Canns agreed.
"Thank you sir." Rick walked away.
