The House Up on Grimm

Chapter 9

Everyone searched the house, but found nothing/nobody. Jade was given the week off as was Rick.

Jade went to the coffee shop the next day. Ken was on break. She sat down next to him.
"Hi. How're you?" Ken smiled.

"Not very good. Did you hear about Sylvia? Well I had to witness her death." Jade sighed.

"Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry, Jade. I didn't know. All I knew was that Rick was there." Ken frowned.

"It's okay. By the way, I thought about what you asked me yesterday..." Jade said.

"And?" Ken blushed.

"I would love to marry you Ken, but... Are we really ready for this? We're only 23 years old. I graduated high-school five years ago, graduated from college last year and just got a job as a police officer 11 months ago. Now marriage? It's not a no or a yes. I want your opinion." Jade looked ready to cry.

"I can take care of you. I'm ready. We've known each other for 8 years. We dated in high school. Dumped me when we graduated. But we stayed friends. Don't you love me like I love you?" Ken explained.

"Of course I love you, Ken. But that's the point..." Jade said.

"That's cool. I totally understand. See ya." Ken walked out.

"Ken? I still... Ugh..." Jade bawled.

The cashier walked over to her. She tapped her back.
"Hey hon'? You okay?" It was an old lady.

"No...." Jade cried.

"Awww.... I know how this feels. My husband proposed when I was eighteen. I said no. He stormed off, and came crawlin' back 4 years later." The cashier smiled.

"Really? He waited? Do ya think Ken would wait for me?" Jade asked.

"He might. Why wouldn't he? Your a lovely girl." The cashier replied.

"Thanks ma'am." Jade sniffled.

"No problem dear." The cashier walked away.

Jade walked outside. Ken was sitting on a bench with a Rose in his hand. He had the ring on his lap. Jade walked towards him. Jade planned on having a talk with him about why she won't marry him.

"Hey! Ken!" Jade called.

"Jade! Look out!" Ken screamed.

A car was being chased by the cops. The car slammed into Jade. The scene was horrible. Rick happened to be one of the cops chasing the car. Rick jumped out.
"Jade?!" Rick ran over to her.

"Ken??? Rick? Help me." Jade was losing consciousness.

"The ambulance is on it's way, babe. Stay with me." Rick said.

"Will she live?" Ken asked.

"She's losing too much blood, man. I think we're losing her." Rick frowned.

The ambulance arrived. They put Jade on the gurney.
"Ken...." She mumbled.
Ken ran over to her.
"I'm here..." Ken cried.

"I'll marry you......" Jade passed out.

"Ohhhh.... I love you...." Ken slipped on her ring.
