Satin has just moved to Forks only for school to be delayed after a freak storm wiped out La Push High, forcing all the students to transfer to Forks High. In an over populated school with a male dominated board, it's hard to be a girl becoming a woman.

Doesn't help when you discover the town is packed with supernaturals.

Satin's P.O.V
"Are you excited about your first day of school?" My Aunt Summer asked me as I came down the stairs. I shrugged my shoulders in uncertainty.

"I dunno. My last school was pretty big so I'm used to lots of people, but didn't you sat the campus wasn't very big?" I asked her as I grabbed a breakfast bar and drank from the orange juice carton. My Aunt took the carton from my hands with a shake of her head. I gave her a sheepish look as I wiped my mouth with the back of my hand.

"Yes, but I heard they got a couple demountable classrooms brought on campus to accommodate for the flux in students." Summer said as she wiped a sponge around the lip of the carton before putting it back in the fridge. I avoid her eyes as I exited the kitchen and headed for the front door, opening my bar at the same time.

"Hey!" I stopped at the door my breakfast bar hanging out of my mouth. Aunt Summer stuck her head out of the kitchen and blew my a kiss. "Have a good day. I love you, be careful, or your mum will kill me!" She sang as I chuckled and opened the door.

"I will, I love you too!" I called back as I made my way to my bicycle. When it wasn't raining in this dreary town Forks, I liked to ride wherever I was headed. I strapped my helmet on, and pushed off, starting my ride down the road towards the school.

I'd made the trip there and back once already, just so I'd know the route, not that it was far from my Aunts house. I was staying with her indefinitely after I got in a fight at school and my mum freaked out.

I stuck to the sides of the carpark as I stopped at the bike rack in front of the school and took off my helmet. Boy was I glad I rode. The parking lot was packed bumper to bumper as people drove around looking for parking spots before realising it was full and making their way back out, to park on the street. I chained my bike to the rack and left my helmet in the basket, trusting no one here would want to take a bike helmet.

I gripped the straps of my back pack as I took a deep breath and entered the sea of students. Everyone seemed to be heading in the same direction and as I got closer I realised they were all filing into an auditorium. I took a seat as the noise of all the chatter echoed around the room. Students were bustling around trying to find a seat, or their friends from the previous year.

"Please take a seat! Everyone if you could just quiet down, and take a seat!" A woman's voice called over the speakers in the ceiling. She kept repeating the phrase over again until the room was full to the brim and the bell sounded. Everyone quietened down, some students standing along the edges of the auditorium as all the seats had been filled. I glanced around me and spotted a couple cheerleaders sitting in the laps of their boyfriends who all wore varsity jackets.

"Quiet please!" The woman called as she silenced the last of the whispered conversations. I could now see the woman who was speaking into the microphone, she had long brown hair that was turning grey at the roots and was spun up into a bun. She couldn't be more than 42 at the most but the way she held herself, and the crows feet at the corners of her eyes made her appear far older.

"Thank you everyone! My name is Mrs Normandy and I'm the Principal here at Forks High. I want to welcome you all to our school. Now, I know this is a very stressful way to start your year and it has caused quite an amount of distress and confusion." She started as she slowly paced the stage. "But I want you all to know that we understand and are doing our very best to make things go as smoothly as possible this year. We have our lovely school councillor Mr Chapman here, if you should have any problems." Mrs Normandy said as she pointed to a conceded looking man with brown hair and glasses, who gave a nod of his head.

"We have offered to take on all of La Push High's students as you may have heard. We have installed a number of demountable classrooms on the campus to accommodate for your fellow students and thus have had to change all of your timetables to correlate with the new classes." There was a large chorus of moans and groans in protest from the Forks High students, having recieved their timetables for this year at the end of last.

"I know, I know! It sucks, but it's just something we've had to do. So, if everyone with the last name starting with A to D, could please make their way out into the hall on my Right, your Left, to collect your new timetables. Please head to your Week A, Monday, Period two, class. That's period Two, week A, thank you." Mrs Normandy read from the paper in her hands as a number of students shuffled through the crowds, out of the auditorium and into the hall. That's how all of first period went. She called out a section of letters and waited till all the students had moved on, before calling out the next group.

I made my way to a demountable classroom labelled, Room 102, B. The door was open and light chatter sounded within. I entered the room to find it half full, a male teacher talking to a group of students near the front. I found a seat near the middle and dropped my bag underneath it as I sat in the chair.

"Hey?" I glanced to my right to see a blonde boy in a varsity jacket sitting beside me. He was handsome but wore a pompous smirk that matched his confident British tone.

"I haven't seen you around here before. You from La Push?" He asked as he looked me up and down, his tounge darting across his teeth as he smirked at me. My face scrunched in disgust and I turned away from him as the room filled up.

"Good morning class, if you can still call it that. That was a very long and boring assembly, Normandy likes to drone on." The teacher joked with a chuckle the class echoed. I rolled my eyes as a piece of paper landed on my desk.

"My name is Mr Mavrick, you can call me Mr Mav, and welcome to history one, oh, one." Mr Mavrick introduced himself as the class gave a little cheer of excitement. A second piece of paper landed on my desk and I glanced at the boy beside me in annoyance. He nodded encouragingly as he gestured to the paper as Mr Mavrick began with an explanation of the years itinerary.

I gave a sigh of annoyance as I opened the first piece of paper.
'Hi, names Austin. What's yours?'
I rolled my eyes before opening the second.
'You're kinda hot, you single???'
I sighed aggressively through my nose as I clenched my teeth. I threw both pieces of paper onto Austin's desk without looking at him, before beginning to jot down the dates for our future assignments as Mr Mavrick wrote them on the white board.

I spent the lesson ignoring Austin's attempts to catch my attention and proceded to duck out of the classroom as soon as the bell sounded. I spent recess hoping he wouldn't find me only to walk into the gym and discover he was in that class too.

It was going to be a very long day.
