What makes up a person's Identity. Is it their personality, or their body perhaps? In which case if you change over time or you lose a limb, does that mean you're not you anymore, or has your Identity changed, and does it constantly change over time, your Identity never staying the same for too long?

Well, these are the questions Sarah struggles with as she finds herself in a freak Shark attack at La Push beach that leaves her with no left lower leg.

Sarah was known for her independence and love for all things Beach. Her favourite past times included Beach Volleyball, swimming in the surf, going for a relaxing run, or cliff diving with her best friends, Jacob, Embry, Quill, Jupiter and Maxine. But when the first Shark attack in 30 years takes her leg, Sarah is forced to change the way she see's herself or risk spirling into depression, but what will happen when half her best friends turn into Wolves and she learns there are Vampires in town.
Sarah will have to learn that sometimes you need a little help, you can't do everything on your own.

Chapter 1
2014
At fourteen years old Sarah had spent her days going to La Push Public School and playing Volleyball on the beach, when the weather would permit it. She spent a hell of a lot of time in the water even on the cold days. As an average fourteen year old she'd grown up in Forks right on the edge of La Push and had known her best friends, Jacob, Maxine, Jupiter, Embry and Quill since they were all in diapers. Or in Max, Jupiter and Sarah's case pull ups, the three being two years older than the boys.

It was an especially nice day at La Push and Sarah's mother had offered to drive her and her friends to the beach and supervise them as they spent the specially warm day in the water. So Sarah's mum had done the rounds in her mini van picking up Jupiter, Max, Jacob then Quill and Embry before arriving at the beach.

I jumped out of the back of mum's mini van glad she'd offered the day, and even more glad my older sister Danielle had agreed to watch my siblings so we could get out. I grabbed my volleyball and ran to the back of the car Jacob Black following me.

"Give me a hand?" I asked my 12 year old friend. While some may find it weird that Max, Joop, and I were close friends with three boys two years our junior, we didn't. Jacob nodded eagerly as I pulled out a couple poles and a Volleyball net. Jake took the poles from me as Joop grab the net and I grabbed the ball. Embry and Quill had taken off to the sand following Maxine like love sick pups. I shook my head as I watched Jupiter and Jacob make their way onto the sand.

"Ready for a game of volly ball kiddo?" My mum asked as she ruffled my hair. Grabbing the last of the gear, she shut the boot.

"Always." I beamed up at my mum. I took off to the shore to help set up the net.

"Score! We win!" I yelled at the top of my lungs as the ball hit the sand on the other side of the net. Joop, Jacob and I all whopped in glee.

"That's not fair. You're all sporty, and we're not." Max said as she huffed placing her hands on her hips. Quill and Embry grumbled behind her about how they were good at sports.

"Alright, alright. We'll mix the team's." I said deeming that fair. Max shook her head.

"I don't wanna play anymore. I'm gonna swim." She said as she took off into the water. Joop turned to me and shrugged before running into the water too, Quill and Embry following.

"Wanna go swimming?" Jake asked me as he picked up the ball from the other side of the make-shift court. I smiled at him cheekily and he blushed lightly, looking away and dropping the ball, at his feet.

"Last one in the waters a rotten egg!" I yelled as I took off running. I heard Jacob yell behind me.

"Hey! That's no fair!" I laughed heartily as I dove into the cool water, once it passed my hips.
I surfaced to spot Jacob paddling his way towards me. He stopped not far and splashed water in my face. I spluttered and splashed him back as we trod water. My toes were a little stiff, due to being further out, where the water was cooler. We laughed and splashed around.

Suddenly I was ripped under the surface.

We we're laughing as we splashed each other with water. Suddenly, something pulled Sarah under the water. She disappeared so quick, had I blinked, I would have missed it. I stopped laughing and began to panic, spinning around in the water looking for her.

The water surrounding me, and where Sarah had been, turned deep red. I freaked.

"Sarah!!" I yelled as I dove underwater, trying to see through the undeniable blood, of my best friend. Spotting her I gripped her arm and pulled us both to the surface. She wasn't conscious and I knew we had to get out of here as quick as possible. I kept her above the water as I swam with her, constantly calling her mums name.

"Mrs Herald! Someone help!" I yelled as I made it to the shore Sarahs mum already on the phone as she ran to her daughter the others quickly getting out of the water.

Everything from there, to the hospital to the few weeks that followed, was a complete blur.

The knee. That was how much of my left leg I lost. But my leg wasn't the only thing I lost. I lost my love for the beach, I lost my courage, and I lost my friends, as I began to push them all away.

Losing my leg changed me, and I didn't like who I had become, a useless cripple with no social skills or passion.

When I looked in the mirror the following year, on the anniversary of the shark attack, I didn't even recognise the girl staring back.
