Poppy is Bella's younger sister. Renee and Phil adopted her when Bella was 11, and since then, they've been family. Poppy's very easy going so when Bella decides to move to Forks and live with her dad Charlie, Poppy decides she'll join, so her parents can be free to travel.
Poppy's care free nature might just catch the eye of a certain wolf.Bella's P.O.V
I finished potting my little succulent, feeling like taking one from our garden would help bring a piece of home with me."You know it's probably gonna die cause mum says it rains lots in Forks." My younger sister Poppy said as I turned around to face her as she bounded up to me. She stopped by my side, bouncing on the balls of her feet. Poppy had been a part of our family since I was 11. She was only a year younger than me, and I definitely counted her as a sister regardless of our lack of blood relations.
"Now Poppy are sure you're okay with this?" Mum was worried about us leaving everything we knew to stay with my father, but she was more worried about Poppy not even knowing Charlie.
"Just like the first time I suggested I join Bella, the following week when you rang Mr Swan, two weeks ago when you bought the tickets and last night when I finished packing, I'm positive. This is gonna be fun. Plus I got Bella with me, its not like I'm gonna be alone." Poppy explained quickly as she gave mum a huge hug before jumping in the backseat beside me with a giddy smile.
She had come into my room late one Friday night and out of nowhere stated 'Mum and dad should have a chance to pursue their dreams' she had then gone on to ask if perhaps we could stay with my dad. I had thought the idea was good for mum, but less than ideal for me, though I knew with Poppy coming it would be much more bearable.
"Now girls, remember to call me every night." Mum said as she leaned between the front seats to look us both in the eyes. I knew poppy would be responsible for those calls more than I would.
Phil drove us all to the airport and we were on our way to quiet, wet Forks in no time. I sat on the ilse side as Poppy oo'd and ahh'd at all the things you could see from the plane window, her leg bouncing uncontrollably. She gave out a small squeal of excitement as she pointed out the snow capped moutains as we flew into Forks as I chuckled at her antics.
When we got off the plane Charlie was there to greet us as he helped pile our bags into the boot of his police cruiser before I climbed into the passenger seat as Poppy excitedly climbed in the back. It was only silent in the car for a few seconds before Charlie broke it.
"Its nice to finally meet you Poppy." He said as he looked at her through the review mirror. She'd chosen to sit in the middle seat and I imagine it was so that she could feel like she was actually in the car with other people. She always did that, as she didn't like being alone.
"You too Mr Swan. Can I call you Charlie or Chief?" Poppy said brightly as she leaned forward, her seatbelt pulling tightly against her as she leant her head in between our seats with a big smile. I chuckled behind my hand at my sisters antics.
"Ah. Sure, Charlie's fine." Charlie answered unsure as he glanced to the side at her as she gave him a toothy smile.
"Well Charlie, I should probably tell you a bit about myself, though I imagine mum's probably told you the most of it, but I'm 16 and I was adopted by Renee and Phil when I was ten." Poppy started and I giggled behind my hand before sinking down in my seat knowing she was about to go on a long spiel she couldn't help with her ADHA and Extrovert, optimist personality.
"See when I was born, well I wasn't actually born. My mum and dad were in a car accident while on the way to the hospital to give birth to me. The doctors had to remove me from my mothers dead body. I was sent to live with my grandma until when I was ten when she passed away. I really miss her." Poppy said as she sighed and I turned to her and gave her a soft smile in a show of comfort. She smiled back before she popped her head between the seats again and smiled at Charlie.
"I'd say I miss my parents too but you can't really miss someone you never knew, plus now I live with Renee, Phil and the best big sister ever!" She said in a sing-a-song voice as she waved a finger in the air and grinned at me as I laughed at her. I noticed Charlie smile at us out of the corner of my eye.
"I'm suppose I live with you now, and you seem nice too. Your the Chief of police right? That's so cool, you must get to kick bad guy butts and save damsels in distress." Poppy said as she began to slow down her talking a little realising she had been going rather fast. Charlie looked a little baffled but managed to answer.
"Ah, I don't know about rescuing damsels in distress, but yeah, I guess I get to kick a little bit of bad guy butt." He said a little awkwardly. Poppy didn't notice his awkwardity and I was greatful for that as his reply made her happy as she grinned.
"That's awesome." She said as she sat back in her seat only to jump forward again and point out the front window between us making Charlie jump and me cover my smile.
"FORKS!" She said in excitement as she pointed at the Welcome to Forks sign as we passed by it and entered the small but yet surprisingly busy streets. We pulled up in front of the same two story, cream coloured house I remembered and we all climbed out of the car. Charlie made his way to the trunk and began pulling our bags out as Poppy moved to help him with a happy smile as she began to chatter away about the weather and the forest and how it wasn't 'like this in Phoenix'. I moved to help as well as I took my duffle and left Charlie with my suit case as Poppy tried and succeeded in carrying all her own bags to the front door despite Charlie's concerned look and offer to help.
Charlie led us upstairs to my old room where Poppy and I would be sharing. It looked awfully different now with a bunk-bed placed where my double used to be and a longer desk where my small one used to sit, two chairs now pushed under it and an old computer on it.
"I bags top!" Poppy called as she bounded past Charlie dropping all her bags and climbing, and jumping, face first onto the top bunk. Charlie placed my suitcase down for me and then nodded once before leaving the room and heading downstairs again. I liked that he didn't hover around. The only person I could stand spending extended periods of time with was my sister Poppy, but that's because she had something special about her that just made everyone wanna be her friend.
I chuckled at Poppy as I sat down on the bottom bunk leaning my head forward a bit to not hit it of the top bunk. I'd have to remember not to sit all the way up in the morning.
I nearly had a heart attack when Poppy jumped off the edge of the bed landing in front of me with a chuckle and a grin as she began to unpack and put her things away in the built in robe we'd also have to share. It was just as well I didn't own a whole lot of clothing, so that left more room for Poppy's unnecessary amount. It wasn't long before a car horn beeping out the front caught our attention as Poppy ran to the window before sprinting down the stairs like this place was already home. I admired that about her.
