Mary-margaret and her younger sister Jessica have travelled far and wide, both for different reasons.
Jessica wishes to find true love and her happily ever after and Mary-margaret simply loves exploring culture and history.
Though these very different sisters have spent most of the past year apart, they seem to find themselves, both in Forks Washington. They will learn things that will have your head spinning and they'll find things they didn't even know they were missing.
Chapter 1 so far
"Where are you?" She asked through the phone as I sat in the car, parked by the beach."I'm leaving Ruby Beach now. Why?" I asked back as I put a chip from the bag in the passenger seat, into my mouth.
"Your sisters boyfriend broke up with her again, and she got the soonest flight outta North Carolina. She got off at this little old town airport, as close to you as she could get. Ah," I heard mum rummaging through something on the other end as I sighed through my full mouth.
"Forks Airport. It's not far from you, 'bout half an hour away." She finally said. I strapped my seatbelt on and turned on the engine.
"Alright," I said sighing, I was tired of coming to her rescue. "Tell her I'm on my way." I said before I hung up and swiftly pulled out of my parking spot. I turned eighteen on January 2nd, and I dropped senior year to travel the country as soon as my birthday rounded. Mum could trust me with a life like this, but, my younger sister? Not so much, course, that didn't stop her.
I passed the Welcome to Forks sign. The town was quaint and simple. Lined with trees on one side and a coastline to the other, occupied by the Quilet Nativies and La Push.
My phone began to ring from the passenger seat and I knew instantly my sister had become impatient already. I let it ring out as I turned off the 101 highway and pulled into Forks road, then the small car park for Forks airport. There, sitting on her suitcase, sat my sister, in a pink Parker with her head resting in her bedazzled nailed, hands. I rolled down my window and couldn't help but smile at my sister.
"Hey stranger!" I yelled out the window. Her head shot up and her face lit up. She jumped up, dragging her pink suitcase behind her as her white, heeled boots clicked on the cement. I got out of the car and brought her into a hug when she was close enough.
"Hey baby sis." I said as I squeezed her tightly, swaying side to side. We let go and I grabbed her suitcase, taking it to the boot.
"Hey Mary. Thanks for coming to get me." She said as she climbed into the passenger seat shoving my stuff in the glove box. I finished putting her bags in the boot and shut it, climbing into the front seat.
"I can't imagine why on earth you are coming through a place like this." Jessica said as she gave the clouded skies and tree lined streets a disgusted face. I shook my head lightly offended.
"This place has a rich cultural history. To come through Washington, and not come to Forks and La Push, would be disgraceful." I argued back as it began to gently rain. Jessica rolled her eyes and pulled down the visa mirror, checking her lip gloss. I pulled away from the kerb and entered the near empty streets.
"So, where are we staying?" Jess asked excitedly as she turned to face me while I drove. I rolled my eyes.
"We're staying at an old friend of Grandmas. Forks and La Push don't actually have and motels. The closest would be one on the edge of Port Angeles, and that's an hour and a half away." I said, not taking my eyes off the road. I heard Jessica sigh.
"Great. We get to spend time with one of Gran Gran's crazy old friends." She said in exasperation. I quickly glared at her and tightened my grip on the wheel.
"Hey! Gran Gran wasn't crazy, okay. Just eccentric." I said back, defending our not long deceased grandmother. Gran Gran had always told the best stories of ancient civilisation and great battles. She was the reason for my great love of history and culture, but even I had to admit that in her old age she began to loose it a little, spouting nonsense about Vampires, werewolves, seers, witches and more. Either way, I could let anyone bad mouth my Gran Gran.
When I had put the ad out for a place to stay, she had instantly replied informing me that she had known my grandmother, and would be delighted to have me stay for as long as I wished. I hope she didn't mind extras.
"So how long until we arrive at, this old ladies place?" Jessica asked, rolling her hand in a circle gesture.
