Human AUElena linked her arm with her husband. He walked her into the ball, all eyes on her when she walked in.
Elena was a very well respected young lady. She was everything you could ever want in a woman. She was beautiful, quite, well dressed and only spoke when spoken too.
Of course all men fell in love with her, but her father only wanted the best for her, his daughter was a jewel after all and she deserved the best, so when the richest young man of their time asked for her hand, Elena's father accepted and they got married.
No children. They had only wedded for a month, but no one was rushing anything. Yet.
Elena was quite, respectable and respected. She grew up with everything, but she was never truly happy. Was she grateful for everything she has, of course! She never said she wasn't, but she just isn't happy.
The big fancy dresses never made her happy, the huge Diamond ring on her finger was a Constant reminder that she had no choice. She was forced into this, she was forced to marry a man she didn't even know and didn't even love.
Joshua was a very charming man, woman would kill for him to even look at them. But behind closed doors he was anything but. Elena being forced to live with him and indoor his Constant abuse.
Bruises filled her back and arms, but they were always covered by the thick and expensive dresses she wears.
He had a right hand man, he went everywhere Joshua did, always informing him of the things that go around. Elijah was his name.
Elijah was the very opposite of Joshua, when you look at Elijah you would see that he is very cold and unapproachable, but really he is quite charming and Elena loves it when he smiles.
They only time she didn't see Elijah around Joshua was when they would go to bed.
Other than that, Elijah seemed to be around them most of the time. When they would be in the sitting room Elijah would play for them, Elena was always so mesmerized by how skilled he was at playing piano.
During dinner she would always sneak quick glances at him, trying to see if she could get his attention. But when she realized what she was doing Elena put an end to it. She was married.
But Elijah caught on, sending her glances whenever he could. When he would play on the piano Elijah always tried to hold Elena's gaze for as long as he could. A light flutter feeling always occurred inside of him when he did.
They had always kept their distance from each other, loving one and another from a far. It was clear they had feelings for the other, but the idea of it all quickly shut down inside their minds. Elijah was stepping on dangerous Territory and Elena was playing with fire.
So they pushed aside the thought and feelings, Elijah retreating from the grounds and Elena putting the fire out. But even now, as Elena stood, watching her husband interact with other men she could still feel her eyes moving over to Elijah.
Slowly the fire was relighting itself.
He seemed so cool and calm all the time, she always wondered why he never smiled out in public. She only ever seen him smile when he was with her in the study.
Elena followed her husband around the party the whole night, she hated it. She hated feeling like a lost puppy clinging onto its master, following, obeying, it was all so wrong to her, but there was nothing Elena could do about it.
Elena stood and waited for her husband to return from a meeting they just called. She felt like crying. Was this what her life was going to be? Was she forever going to have to dress up and go to parties, only to stand around and look pretty?
