It was a common mistake. A lot of people took Klaus and Elena for a couple, but really. Their just friends, really close friends. Although Klaus did wish they were something more.

She is all so supported of him and encouraged him to follow his dream. When no one else in his family thought he would make it as an artist, she was right there to pick him up. She always told him to prove them wrong, and that he's better than this.

He always found himself smiling at her when she would give him one of her little speeches. It made him feel good, knowing that she cared for him.

So he took her advice. He applied for an art school and to his surprise he got in. Elena was the first person he told.

But what he didn't tell her was that the piece that he sent in was a painting of her.

Elena is a very compassionate and loving girl. So it was natural for her to help a friend out when he or she is down. Klaus being the main one.

She didn't like the fact that his family would put him down and make fun of his dreams. But she made sure he would get into a good art school, and than one day became rich and famous.

She didn't know when it had happened but over time she found herself catching feelings for the young artist. When they would hang out at the Grill or the park she would sneak glances at him.

She loved to admire him, it was no secret that Klaus was undeniably attractive. But she told herself that they we're just friends and nothing more. She loved to watch him paint and draw, he was so happy and peaceful when he did.

She liked to see him happy and will do anything for that smile to stay on his face.

Klaus walked down the hallway. He passed by other collge students who were either leaving or visiting. Spring break is a big deal around here and it's no surprise to see students already packed and ready to go.

In fact his own roommate packed two weeks before spring break. He pulled out his keys and unlocked his dorm room.

He wasn't surprised when he saw that his roommate had already left. Klaus got a text message. He took his phone out and looked over it. Elena had texted. He smiled down at the message.

Spring Break officially starts! Caroline is throwing a party down by the water hole. Want to come? - Elena

I'll be there - Klaus

He looked threw his closet taking out swim trunks and anything else he may need for the water hole.

When he felt like he got everything he walked out his dorm. While walking across the field one of his teachers stopped him.

"Klaus there you are I've been looking everywhere for you, glad I caught you before you left"

"Yeah? What's wrong?"

Klaus's teacher pulled out his phone "Nothing is worng in fact do you remember the Instagram account that we made for the class, well a very interested man saw a painting of yours and wants to speak to you"

The teacher pulled up the post of his painting. It was the outline of a women and inside the women was a tree and by that tree sit a man gazing up at the girl.

"It could just be a scam" Klaus had a hard time believing this was real. It wasn't even that good, that was the whole reason why he allowed the teacher to post it. He didn't care for it.

"No, I thought that too but than I researched him and found out that a few of my bodies work there. This guy is real and he's interested in you. Look in the text he sent he said to call his personal number if you ever want to make something of yourself"

The teacher reached into his pocket pulling out a sticky note "Here, this is his number. Call him sometime this week. Klaus, this could be it for you"

Klaus took the piece of paper, he looked over the numbers. He felt overjoyed. All his hard work just might pay off. "Thank you"

"Good luck"
-----------------------------------------------------------------

"You have his number?" Elena just found out the good news. They were by the water away from the party catching up on what they missed.

"Yeah, it's right here" Klaus took out the paper.

"What are you waiting for? Call him!" Elena urged him on. But Klaus shook his head. "What if it's a fake? I don't know, it just doesn't seem real."

"Klaus, this could be huge for you. I mean even your teacher thinks he's legit. I think you should go for it, and if it's fake than we burn the number and you keep trying, because you can't just give up after one silly thing. You just got to try harder. What?"

Klaus was smiling at her, she had went on one of her little speeches again. "Nothing love" Elena shoved his shoulder lightly. "Werido" Klaus chuckled.

"But anyways the call. Just please tell me your going to call him sometime"

Klaus looked out into the water. "I will give him a call"

"Yes!" Elena wrapped her arms around him and gave his cheek a kiss. "I'm so proud of you!"

Klaus chuckled and hugged back as best as he can, considering they were hugging sitting down and side ways.

Elena pulled back slightly locking eyes with him. She felt herself being drawn to him, they both started to lean in. Elena never took her eyes off his lips, eventually they met in the middle.

They both felt as if anchors have just been lifted off of them. All those years of hiding their feelings from one and other. Trying to keep the other one from knowing. It all just disappeared and they couldn't have been happier.

Elena was the first to pull away. Klaus was a little alarmed at this. "I-I'm sorry I didn't know what-"

"Klaus"

"Came over me I was just caught up in the mo-"

"Klaus"

"I'm sorry Elena I shouldn't have and-"

"Klaus!"

He stopped blabbering and focused on Elena, his heart beating out of his chest.

"Kiss me again" she said.

And he did.
