A few days passed since the last time they went to that place.
Ushijima had been forced by his friend to keep going to volleyball training, but that would have meant not seeing the boy every day anymore.

Unfortunately Ushijima had no choice, the two boys had also argued for that, and eventually convinced him to go, even if the brown-haired boy didn't understand why.

Tendou woke up coughing that morning, then sat up to try to stop.
Luckily he succeeded almost immediately, yawned a little and rubbed his eyes, then he went to the window.
When Ushijima wasn't there, Tendou usually spent his time looking out of the window at the place they had gone to a few days ago, hoping to return.

"Good morning Satori, here's your breakfast." the nurse said entering the room.

"Good morning." the boy smiled, turning to her.

"How are you today?"

"I'm alright." the boy shrugged and began to have breakfast.

"Good. - She turned his gaze to the window - What were you looking at?

"The landscape." the boy laughed, she smiled at him and then left the room.

Most of the doctors loved Tendou, they thought he was a very cheerful  and, maybe, a little weird person sometimes, but he had always been a very positive boy.
What worried them, however, was that in last months he was losing this positivity, resigning himself to the fact that being a genetic disease he couldn't heal.

Later Tendou, who was taking some antibiotics, checked his phone, not finding messages from Ushijima.

Obviously he wasn't surprised, the brown-haired boy hardly ever used his phone and never wrote frist.

"Good morning Wakatoshi-kun!" he wrote.

"Good morning Satori" he replied almost immediately.

"Did you really replied that quickly? You amaze me, what were you doing?"
The brown-haired boy laughed as he read the message.

"Training starts soon, I'm in the locker room."

"At 11? Good :)"

"What were you doing?" wrote Ushijima, still laughing at the reactions from the other boy.

"I was taking some antibiotics"
Ushijima stopped smiling, returning to reality.

"I got it. I have training even after lunch, but if you want tonight I'll come to the hospital."

Satori's eyes lit up at the sight of that message and he smiled too.
"Yay! See you later Wakatoshi-kun!"

Ushijima could feel the other's boy enthusiasm even through the message and almost felt guilty for being at training instead of with him, although it was the red-haired boy to insisted.
The first one put his phone in the bag and he started walking towards the volleyball court.

Although he hadn't trained for a long time, Ushijima managed to do a good training that afternoon, and at six in the evening he started going to the hospital.

Instead the red-haired boy had spent the afternoon, as every day, reading, walking around the hospital or watching some TV series, while he waited for his friend to arrive.

Ushijima arrived at the hospital in a short time and immediately headed for the red-haired boy's room.
Already from the corridor he could hear his friend cough, so he waited to hear him stop, since Tendou often got embarrassed in those situations.

Once he stopped, he walked into the room.
"Tendou?"

The red-haired boy turned to the figure who had just called him and immediately put down the manga he was reading.
Then Tendou smiled and gestured to Ushijima to come closer to him.

"How did the training go?" he asked enthusiastically as the brown-haired boy sat down next to him.

"Well. - Ushijima looked up - I have a match on Saturday."

Tendou's eyes widened.

"Really?! - He said looking for Wakatoshi's gaze - And do they broadcast it on TV?" the boy continued, pointing to a small television at the side of his room.
Ushijima nodded.

"I'll look at it then!" Satori said starting to smile.

"Okay... Why all this enthusiasm?"  Ushijima laughed.

"Because you're good at volleyball.- He looked away, still smiling -You're the ace, aren't you?"

Ushijima nodded.

"If I weren't in the hospital I could play too, in short, I'm quite tall, - he started to look at his hands - in your opinion what role could I have?" he continued looking up, dreaming.

Ushijima was initially surprised by that question, not knowing what to answer.
It hurt him to see Tendou so enthusiastic about something he couldn't do.
"Yes, you are tall. I would see you well playing as a Middle Blocker."  finally he said.

"How beautiful!" exclaimed the red-haired boy, starting to look at his hands again.

Ushijima smiled seeing the boy's happiness when Satori looked up.
The red-haired boy, seeing Ushijima, noticed that the other boy had started to smile.
Tendou then lowered himself and turned upwards, resting his head on Ushijima's knees, who was sitting next to him.
Then lying with the stomach turned upwards, he put his hand on Wakatoshi' cheeck, who was already looking at him curiously.

"You have to promise me something."

"Another one?" the brown-haired boy asked laughing.

"Yes, another one." the boy laughed too, then smiled again in a few seconds.

Tendou took his hand from Ushijima's cheek and pointed it to Ushijima's smiling mouth.

"This."

"What?" Ushijima asked confused.

"Never take it off."

The brown-haired boy knew what Tendou meant, but he had no intention of thinking about it.
Seeing Wakatoshi in silence Satori continued.

"Promise me."

"I promise you."  he said, recognizing that that was the second thing he promised the other boy.

Tendou smiled and stood up, completely changing his mood.

"Well, let's have dinner, I'm hungry!"

So, they spent that evening mostly watching TV series together.
When the last episode ended, however, Ushijima noticed that the other boy had fallen asleep on his chest.
At this point the brown-haired boy decided not to wake him up and to go home when the other boy woke up: needless to say he stayed there all night, falling asleep too, tired from training.
