It took the two boys twenty minutes to get back to the hospital.
All along the way, Tendou didn't have the same smile he had while they were going to that beach, on the contrary, his face was tired, his breathing heavy and his eyes half open.
So Ushijima, to reassure him, grabbed Satori's hand again, who hinted a small smile.

Once they arrived at the hospital, fortunately, the two boys discovered that the doctors hadn't even noticed that Satori and Wakatoshi had left the hospital, as they had already checked the red-haired boy just before.

So Tendou, exhausted, immediately lay down on the bed, while Ushijima took off his jacket.
The brown-haired boy, once removed, lay down beside him.
Satori said nothing, just smiled a little and welcomed Ushijima close to him.
The boys were looking at each other and, although neither of them spoke, their gazes managed to tell each other everything.

Tendou loved being in Ushijima's arms and the second loved to hold him close:
"What will I do when he is no longer present, when he can no longer fill this space?" the brown-haired boy tought.

After a few minutes Satori fell asleep, while, that night, Wakatoshi couldn't sleep.

A few more days passed and Tendou kept feeling worse and worse.
His breathing was getting more labored, he felt the air he breathed getting heavier and heavier.
The coughing attacks became more and more frequent, but despite this, Ushijima, kept insisting that he take more antibiotics.

Tendou was only 20 years old, the brown-haired boy couldn't accept losing him so soon, losing him at that moment.
Instead it was becoming difficult for Satori to do almost everything, due to his poor breathing.
Despite this, the boy continued to talk to Wakatoshi, and sometimes he still made his jokes and strange phrases, which always made Wakatoshi laugh out loud.

The two boys continued to spend their days like this, with Tendou taking antibiotics or with the computer in front of them, watching movie after movie until they fell asleep.

Although Wakatoshi wasn't much of a movie or TV guy, in those days he hadn't been bored even once: feeling Tendou close to him reassured him, and he knew it was the same for red-haired boy.

Due to the continuos worsening of Satori, Ushijima subsequently called Semi.
He explained to his friend about the symptoms of the red-haired boy and told him that he could no longer breathe well.
Semi could feel Ushijima's mood from his voice.
So the gray-haired boy told Wakatoshi that he would try to free himself as soon as possible to go and see him, see how he was doing.

So a few days later, while Tendou and Ushijima were talking, the doctor allowed the boy to enter the room.
Satori was lying in bed while Wakatoshi was in the chair next to him.

When Semi entered the room, Tendou gave a big smile.
"Semi-Semi!" he said in a low voice, now hoarse and weak.

Slowly the boy, who was still standing in the doorstep, approached to him.
He immediately hugged the red-haired boy and quickly wiped away the tear that had just fallen from his eye, to prevent Tendou from seeing it.

The three boys talked less than the last time Semi had been there, since it was hard for Tendou, who was usually the one carrying on the conversations, to talk too much.

Semi stayed in town for two days, both of which spent in the hospital, then unfortunately, he left to go his home.

Ushijima always remained in Tendou's room, tried to be close to him, to make him sleep better, to make him feel that he was there and that he wouldn't leave.

What disheartened Ushijima, however, was the fact that although the boy taking a lot of antibiotics, he was slowly reaching respiratory failure.
So probably, soon he would no longer be able to breathe on his own, and would need the help of an oxygen machine, as Tendou had already told Ushijima.

The two boys were again lying on the bed, facing each other, lying on their side.
They kept looking at each other, without saying anything.
Those were kind looks, which already contained all the words the two needed.
But Ushijima's gaze, as he lokeed at Tendou's sickly face, was the saddest one.

"Wakatoshi-kun." Satori said suddenly, in a low voice, continuing to caress the brown-haired boy's face.

"Mh?"

Tendou paused a little, then smiled.
He had noticed that Wakatoshi had been thinking for days, he always held him close, he had noticed the dark circles that were forming under the eyes of the brown-haired boy, due to the fact that he didn't sleep.

"Smile too. - He said pointing to Ushijima's mouth, and then put his hand back on his cheek - Stop thinking Wakatoshi-kun."

He concluded, then he closed his eyes, continuing to smile.
Ushijima did the same, trying to listen to what the boy had just told him, and thanks to the caresses of the red-haired boy, that night he was able to sleep a little.
