The following morning Ushijima woke up first.
When he realized he had fallen asleep, initially, he put a hand to his face.Raising his head, then he noticed Tendou, who was always on his chest, he hadn't moved from there. Ushijima smiled.
While he waited for Satori to wake up, Wakatoshi picked up the phone to check some unopened emails. Before he could even look at any, however, Tendou gave a few coughs, sitting up to breathe better.
"Are you ok?" Wakatoshi asked, sitting up too.
The red-haired boy at those words suddenly turned to brown.
"You scared me." he then said laughing.
Ushijima smiled."I'm sorry."
"Didn't you come home last night?" Tendou asked confused.
"You fell asleep on me, I didn't want to wake you up. In the end I fell asleep." Wakatoshi said lying back on the bed.
Tendou nodded.
Ushijima picked up the phone and opened the first email.
There were a few seconds of silence between the two boys, then the first onr, without taking his eyes off the phone, spoke."Tendou, do you remember Semi Eita?"
Tendou frowned, then smiled.
"Sure, Semi-Semi! - He laughed - He was on your high school volleyball team, wasn't he? I haven't seen him since I was hospitalized." he concluded.
"Yes, it's been two years. Unfortunately, he moved around that time so you haven't seen each other again."
Tendou nodded, then continued.
"Why did you ask me?""He just sent me a message, yesterday he managed to get back to town. He asked me if it is okay for you to come and see you today, since he has to come back tomorrow." the brown-haired boy answered.
"Sure, it's okay!" Tendou's expression made Ushijima smile, he seemed happy.
The second boy then nodded, replying to his friend's message.Tendou considered the days he lived monotonous, or at least the days he didn't spend with Ushijima.
His routine was always the same: he woke up, had breakfast and took antibiotics, read, ate, sometimes felt sick and went back to sleep. For this reason, even small changes, such as the arrival of Semi in the town or the exit from the hospital with Ushijima, made him happy. In the last two weeks Ushijima's life also had the same daily routine, even if he liked it.
The brown-haired boy loved to talk openly with Tendou, who always had a topic to talk about.
Although Ushijima often didn't understand his speeches, he was heartened to see the red-haired boy carefree and amused when they were together. At that point a nurse entered the room saying good morning to Tendou, which he returned.
"Satori I'll leave you breakfast and antibiotics here for later." she said placing them on the small piece of furniture near the entrance, Tendou nodded."Oh, good morning Wakatoshi." she said noticing him, since she hadn't turned around yet.
"Good morning." he answered the nurse as she left the room.
While Tendou and Ushijima were talking, Semi's answer came over the phone.
He said that he would come around half past three in the afternoon.Ushijima stayed all the time in the hospital with Tendou, waiting for his friend to arrive.
Then, the two boys spent the morning and the first part of the afternoon talking, watching TV and, above all, Tendou downloaded some video games on Ushijima's phone, since he had none.
When Ushijima asked him why he was doing it, Tendou replied that he considered them "funny", which according to him was unknown to Wakatoshi, he joked. Finally they started playing an online game, and after all Ushijima also enjoyed it.
Then came half past three in the afternoon and the two boys heard a knock on the door of the room.
When they invited the person who had knocked to open the door, a tall gray-haired boy entered."Semi-Semi!" Tendou exclaimed, rising from the bed to hug him.
"Don't you dare call me that." he said laughing and hugging Satori tightly.
Semi was initially surprised to see Tendou.
The red-haired boy looked sicker than it had two years ago, and he had lost weight too.
He stopped watching him when Ushijima also approached him, so that they could hug each other. The three boys sat down and started talking about everything.
Satori also started telling Semi about a few days ago, when he and Ushijima went to that little beach.
From the way he told it, Semi could feel the enthusiasm of the red-haired boy and how much he enjoyed getting out of the hospital."It looks nice!" Semi exclaimed as Tendou spoke.
Tendou nodded.
"We can go together once." he said looking at Ushijima.
The brown-haired boy stared at Tendou, without answering."Sure, gladly." Semi smiled.
The gray-haired boy, a few minutes later, noticed that it was almost seven, so he thought it was time to go.
"I must go now." he said hugging Tendou.
"When will you come back Semi?" he then asked, trying hard not to call him by the nickname he had given him.
"Unfortunately because of the study and all the volleyball tournaments I never have a free moment. As soon as summer comes I will be able to come back for a few weeks, so in six or seven months." Semi said, getting up.
Tendou's face darkened.
"Six or..." he repeated then, counting the months that would pass on his fingers.
"Okay, see you Semi-Semi." he concluded, forcing a smile.Semi, who had been confused, nodded and then left the room, greeting Ushijima.
