When Ushijima entered the room, the red-haired boy, who was lying on the bed, looked at him with narrowed eyes and he gave a small smile.
Tendou's breathing was still producing faint whistles, but it seemed to have settled.

Ushijima went next to tendou and, when he was close enough, he placed a hand on his face to caress him.
Tendou kept smiling and looking at Ushijima.

"I'm fine, don't worry." Satori said, Ushijima didn't answer.

The brown-haired boy kept looking at him worried, so his friend insisted.

"I said I'm fine. - He said motioning him to sit next to him - Tell me, how did the game end? I haven't seen the last set."

Ushijima smiled at Tendou.
"We won."

Satori's face lit up.
The red-haired boy sat up and hugged Ushijima, who told him not to get too excited.

"I was sure of it." said Satori without dissolve the hug, while Ushijima ruffled his hair slightly.

"I saw you, anyway." he continued.

"What?"

"You smiled when you scored that point."

...

Weeks passed from that day and the month of March had already begun a few time ago.
Some time had already passed since the two boys had begun to see each other almost every day.
Then Tendou's conditions began to worsen, but for the two boys there hadn't had news that was too discouraging or events out of the ordinary yet.

Ushijima kept going to visit his friend, he brought him new manga to read which they would eventually read together, and he also started spending the nights in the hospital, to help the red-haired boy to sleep.
Despite the frequent breathing difficulties, however, Tendou continued to be the same person as always: he continued to make his usual walks around the hospital, to joke and above all he kept asking Ushijima to take him back to that beach at least one more time, but the brown-haired boy didn't yield.

Ushijima had just returned home from training, and immediately after getting ready, he left home to visit his friend.

He brought a small laptop and a recently bought manga with him, so that, depending on what Satori wanted to do, they could watch a TV series or read.

As soon as he took a step outside the house, however, it started to rain, and the boy had to go home to get an umbrella.
At that point he finally managed to leave home.
Although it was almost spring, on that day there was a strong wind, the sky was covered with large gray clouds and rain fell on the road around Ushijima.

It took him about half an hour to get there and he arrived soaked.
This made him think it was time to buy a car.
Once inside the hospital he checked the small backpack: luckily the computer and the manga weren't wet.
Then, relieved, he went to his friend's room.

Usually before approaching the boy's room he always heard a lot of confusion, but this time Tendou was silent.
Opening the bedroom door he saw the boy leaning against the window with a lost look.

"Tendou?" Ushijima said, entering the room.

The boy didn't turn to him.

Then, the brown-haired boy, put his backpack on the bed of the other boy and leaned against the window, next to Satori.
"Tendou, what's the matter?" he said, looking for Satori's gaze.

Tendou tried to speak but then closed his mouth.
Finally he looked down and spoke a few words.
"Sorry I didn't mention it sooner, Wakatoshi-kun."

Ushijima was confused at those words and he tried to make Satori look up.
"What are you talking about Tendou?" he then said, once he could look the other boy in his eyes.
Satori's gaze was rather dull.

The red-haired boy pursed his lips, but after a few seconds he spoke.

"I have a lung infection."

Wakatoshi said nothing, he stood looking at Satori, who was staring at him now.
Seeing that Ushijima didn't answer, Tendou continued.

"It often happens that lung infections can occur due to my illness, for now I am still in the first stage.
I am taking a lo of antibiotics, even inhalers, but... Wakatoshi I don't know if I'll be able t-"

Ushijima covered the boy's mouth with the palm of his hand.
"Don't say that, it won't happen."

The two boys remained silent, then a first tear came out of the brown-haired boy's eye.
That was the first time Tendou saw Ushijima cry.

Wakatoshi took Satori in his arms and the red-haired boy's face filled with tears.
The two boys found themselves sitting on the floor and remaining embraced for a few minutes, saying nothing.

Tendou was the first to speak.
"I'll get you a hoodie, I think you cought the rain." he said drying Ushijima's tears, who nodded.

Tendou gave Ushijima the biggest hoodie he had, but despite this, that one fit him small.
Seeing the scene, Satori burst out laughing, continuing to drying Wakatoshi's tears, that continued to fall.

"Everything will be fine." the red-haired boy said gaving a small insincere smile.
Ushijima stroked Tendou's face.
"Everything will be fine." he repeated then, nodding.
