Chapter Twenty- Seven

The following day I didn't even bother telling Rae or even James of the whole situation since it just blew over but that didn't ease the guilt that I felt for keeping a secret from her. I sat in Roman's room, everything was as I left it. Roman was taking a shower, leaving me to my thoughts.

This will all just blow over and everything will go back to normal- For the most part look at mom for example she married her highschool sweetheart, got married, had me and then he "died" and after all that he came back to life and she's still with him. I mean they made it through that-

Wait.. Vance knows.. I have to tell him to keep his mouth closed to anyone when we go back to school tomorrow.

"What are you thinking about, baby?" I jumped, startled by Roman.

"Nothing, just can't wait to go back to school." He hummed, before leaning down to kiss my forehead and leaving to get dressed.

"Want me to run to the nearest cafe and get you some hot chocolate with extra cinnamon on top?" He asked, slipping his shirt on. I haven't thought of cinnamon in forever, just the thought of it makes my mouth begin to water! I guess I made a face because Roman chuckled.
"I'll take that as a yes then." With that he left.

A low ring began to sound throughout the room, coming from somewhere under the blanket. I pat around, throwing the blanket over and around the bed. Where is it? Oh- Finally! I grab my phone and see it's Rae calling. "Hi Rae, how have you been?"

"Hey Rabbit, nothing much. I feel like we haven't talked in ages!" She sighed, exaggeratedly through the phone. I giggled at how dramatic she was.

"It hasn't been that long, maybe two days at most."

"That's a long time!" I rolled my eyes "But anyways what's new?"

I stiffen at her question before composing myself. "Nothing much, I mean I ran into Vance yesterday-"

"Oh you ran into Vance?" I can practically see her wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.

"Rae, you know I'm with Roman, who is also your friend."

"Yeah Yeah, whatever. That doesn't mean I can't say you look cute with someone else."

"Uh yeah I think it kind of does." She laughed on the other line as if I said a funny joke.

"What is Roman going to do, hit me?" My body stiffens at her words. She made a joke, that's all it was.

I let out a shaky laugh which I'm glad she didn't notice. "Yeah I guess you're right Rae."

"Oh dang it, I gotta go. I'll see tomorrow."

"Okay bye."

After a few minutes, Roman came back in with two cups in his hands. "Here you go." He said, passing over one of the cups. I removed the lid and set it aside. The hot chocolate is more like melted Belgian truffle than the stuff my mother serves. It's dark, rich and coats my tongue thickly before flowing down my throat. The top is swirled with white milk foam and spotted with cocoa powder. It smells like Charlie's Chocolate factory and I am torn between wanting to savour it and inhale it. For some moments I just wrap my hands around the paper to go cup, letting the warmth flow through my fingers, banishing the wintry chill that I felt.

"Thank you." I looked at the top to see a swirl of whipped cream and cinnamon on top. Cinnamon has always been my favorite spice, and cinnamon buns are such heaven. There is a real sense of home in its aroma, in its combination with brown sugar and fresh buns. This isn't as great as my moms but it is certainly close. "What did you get?"

"I got a Salted Caramel Latte, It's surprisingly so delicious." That did sound delicious.

"I think mine is better." Roman chuckled.

"That's impossible especially with that outrageous amount of disgustingness on top." I gasped, offended.

"What are you talking about? What disgustingness? Don't listen to him, darling. He doesn't mean it." I baby talked to my cup of cocoa.

Roman rolled his eyes. "You're so weird, mi amor." A content sigh left my lips at how peaceful and uplifting things were now. Conflict and fighting wasn't my thing even when I was younger at the sight of an issue with someone, I would desperately try to fix it. I guess it was a bad habit of mine. I set my cup aside and Roman came to stand in front of me. From the warm tones of his cologne, to those of his voice and well chosen words - he was so easy to fall in love with.
"Can I kiss you?"
I nodded, slowly. He dipped down, leaning over me and pressed our lips together. The kiss was slow and simple which I'm quite thankful for. I parted my lips to take a breath before Roman captured mine with his. His tongue slipped into my mouth gliding over mine which the thought of it in a sentence was gross but seemed natural. I pulled back a decent distance away, panting softly. I shifted away from the bedpost enough for Roman to lean over me as I laid down. One of his hands gripped my waist, softly caressing every now and then while the other laid next to my head to keep him from falling. My hands went up to wrap themselves around his neck. We pulled apart once more before Roman decided to just cuddle up against my side. He looked up at me with a smile but it soon washed away the longer he stared.

"What's wrong?"
