Chapter Thirty-Two

I must have spent a really long time in the shower because before I knew it, Vance was knocking on the door asking if I was okay.

"I'm alright, I just lost track of time." I hurriedly turned the shower off and hopped out. Thankfully he had already given me spare clothes to change into so I wouldn't have to ask him to bring me some. I kept thinking back to Roman.

Would he really stoop that low to hurt Vance?

The very thought caused me to involuntarily shiver and I forced the thought from my head. I stepped outside of the bathroom, glancing around the room only to see Vance was nowhere to be seen. My steps barely made any noise as I walked to his bed.

Vance was right, I had to make a choice I couldn't keep leading them both on. Why was I even put in a situation like this? I wonder what other people have chosen in this position.

"What's going on in that pretty head of yours?"

My eyes shift to find the owner of the voice. "Nothing much, just thinking." He didn't seem too convinced as he sat down next to me.

"Thank you for letting me shower here but I should go-"

"Please stay." It came out as a mumble.

"What?" I glance back up to meet his eyes but he's looking down at his hands.

"Can you please stay?" He asked once again more clearly.

"I-I'm not sure, my parents would be worried." I stumble to make an excuse because I know if I were to stay with him at this moment it would mess with my mind even more. I wouldn't be able to focus and genuinely think of the answer to the question he asked me.

"I'm begging you this once to just stay by my side." By now his eyes have met mine and I couldn't bring myself to look away. He sounded so defeated as if he knew my answer before I had even given it.

"Alright."

To be quite frank I didn't expect that when I agreed to stay that we would be lying in bed. Vance laid beside me, hugging my waist, sound asleep, meanwhile sleep definitely didn't want to come to me. I laid there wide awake and it was quite comical because of how the events turned out.

How could someone fall asleep so easily?

"This isn't what I thought you meant when you asked me to stay, idiot." I whisper to him as I hold his nose teasingly. He groaned, tightened his grip around me and then went back to softly snoring peacefully.

"Without a care in the world huh?" It was hard to see the 'delinquent' he claims to be literally snoring and sleeping like a puppy. If only people could see this. I reached for my phone and took a picture but my hand was caught.

A small screech left my mouth as he now towered over me. "Y-Y-You were awake?!"

"Only around the end of your talk." He mumbled as he dropped himself on me.

I groaned at the sudden weight being put on me. "You're heavy, get off."

"No, go to bed." A huff passed my lips as I settled in a more comfortable position with him on me.

"But I can't sleep."

"Fine fine, I'm awake now let's go drink coffee."

"Coffee?"

"It's already 4 in the morning." He grumbles. He gets up off the bed, putting on a shirt.

I sit up abruptly looking at the time. It really was 4 in the morning, how long was I just laying there awake for?
