Chapter Sixteen

Roman's Point of view

The loud annoying ring of my phone woke me from my sleep, while groaning I turned to see my beautiful bunny sleeping peacefully. Just before I was about to go back to sleep another loud ring came from my right causing me to rotate my body to check who was calling me this early, only to find out that there was no caller ID. Out of curiosity I answered, picking up my phone and lazily holding it to my ear.

"Who is it, what do you want?" I asked in annoyance.

"You have something I want."

"First off who the hell are you and second of all how could I have something of yours?" I was growing angrier by the second as I stood up from my bed, careful not to wake up kennedy.

"You know who I am." He said tauntingly. The longer he spoke, I quickly realized who he was...

"Knox." I said, my voice filled with hatred towards him. I began to pace around my room.

"Took you long enough. Now, you have something I want."

"The hell-" I glanced at Kennedy to see him still sound asleep before continuing. "Enough with the riddles Knox, tell me what you want."

"If you look down on your bed you'll notice that lover of yours asleep."

"The hell do you want with him Knox, you better not harm a hair on his head, he belongs to me!" I yelled warningly. I forced down the sudden urge to punch a hole in the wall and tried to calm myself so I wouldn't wake up Kennedy.

"That is where you're wrong Roman, Kennedy is not yours. He is in fact mine, my flesh and blood, my son." His words sent a cold shiver down my spine as my face paled.

Knox's Point of view

"Theodore, we agreed the money would be split fifty-fifty!" I yelled angrily.
"Well there's been a change of plans Knox." I was absolutely livid, I was about to continue yelling when I remembered my wife and son were in the house with me.

Checking the hall cautiously, I closed the door to my office.
"Theodore I swear I'll have your head on a platter if I don't get my share of the money." I could hear him chuckle darkly on the other line.
"You shouldn't be making idle threats. I would hate to see something happen to that beautiful wife and son of yours."

My blood ran cold at his threat.

"You better not even touch a hair on their heads!" I open my office door slightly to see my wife and son laughing while making lunch, closing the door again and diverting my attention back to the call.
"Listen here Theodore, I wouldn't be threatening me if I were you. Don't forget, you have a son too."

"I will hunt you down and kill you Knox."

"I'd like to see you try." And with that I ended the call. Walking out of my office to my wife and son, I saw them laughing without a care in the world until there was a knock on the door. Joanna, my wife, left me with Kennedy in the kitchen so she could open the door.

"Honey? Someone's at the door asking for you." My son watched as I left the kitchen only to see Theodore's right hand man standing outside my house.

Anger came off me in waves as I turned to Joanna and placed a kiss on her forehead.

"Go to Kennedy and stay inside no matter what you hear." I warned. She looked at me with worry before nodding, doing as I said. I then walked outside into the pouring rain.
