New Beginnings pt. 2

LUKE

Hey dude! Party this Fri. @ 9pm! Invite the ladies! - Ajay

 I chuckle, I can hear Ajay saying these exact words to me. Ajay is my cousin from my mother's side; my oldest aunt's son. Ajay is two year older than me but we grew up together back when Raging Leaf was it's own pack.

 I text Ajay back:

 I got a few friends coming...you invite the rest

 Ms. Hould is still talking about the Metrics system when I take a glance at my mate, avoiding all eye contact with me.

Confused, I ask my wolf what's going on and he simply just states, You figure it out.

I get another text a couple minutes later from one of the pack patrollers:

Srg. Glen spotted a rouge roaming around our land. This would be the 3rd time this month. Still no identification on who this rogue is but Glen has stated that the rogue is mid-30s, average height and built.

 My good mood goes sour, my Alpha position takes over. I reply back:

Message received. Notify the surveillance team to have them order more night vision cameras to be installed. If rogue is seen again, pursue with caution. I want him alive...for questioning.  

The bell rings and I watch as my sexy mate gets up from her seat and heads for the door. Before she can leave, I ask to walk her to her next class.

 I could feel the tension walking down the wall with her; the pull between us had my wolf on edge while Mika tried to keep a distance from me. She begins to apologize for punching me the other day but I just compliment her and ask where did she learn to throw such a punch.

 Flex? Who the hell is Flex? my wolf begins, and why the hell does he have my mate in daydream land right now?

Without realizing it, I lean in and whisper in Mika's ear, sending visible chills down her spine. I grin to myself, I love the effect I have on her. I am about to reach out to her when she stampers out that she had to go and would see me later.

Great, you scared her off, my wolf snarled.

I roll my eyes at my wolf and continue down the hall to my next class. I walk in and a couple boys from the back standing in the back with a few girls, talking about some gossip going around— one of the new substitute teachers found their mate but their mate's a student.

I walk over and Mae, one of the old Alpha's daughters, places a hand on my shoulder, pulling me into a side hug. I pull away after a few seconds but she rested herself on my side. I didn't think much of it, she is just leaning against me like a friend would, but once Mika walked into the room, the atmosphere changed. Our eyes lock for a second before Mika takes a seat near the windows. I feel in the pit of my stomach that something is wrong.

Of course there's something wrong, my wolf replies.

I raise and eyebrow, What? Did something happen?

She thinks you're with Mae, you idiot! my wolf states.

I'm a little shocked but a grin tries to escape, she's jealous? I knew she could feel it too.

The teacher walks in and I make my way to the seat right behind Mika. 15 minutes into class, I poke Mika on the shoulder— I can feel a surge go through my finger once I touch her.

Mika jumps and turns her head around, giving me the "what the hell was that" look.

I lean into the desk, getting closer so the human students next to us couldn't hear, and I whisper, "I'm sorry."

Mika's beautiful brown eyes go wide as she whispers back, "For what?"

I realize that I didn't really do anything openly to her, "Um...for...for not inviting you sooner."

Mika looks at me confused but I continue, "Yeah...I was going to ask you if you wanted to come to this party Friday?"

Mika suddenly turns around, leaving me with no answer. When I realize she isn't going to turn back around, I get lean back in my chair as the class drags on.

My wolf growls, annoyed that our mate has flat out disrespected us. I'm a little antsy on the other hand, was that her way of saying no?

I know I can't seem to stick to a day for uploading but i'm trying. I only have about 2 1/2 weeks left of college (Love that we finish early!) SO I WILL BE POSTING MORE OFTEN! 

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed New Beginnings pt. 2. I know it seems like I din't plan to go anywhere right now but I really want this story to build up to the plot— I don't want it to be so fast paced and plot-twisty that I don't even know what I'm talking about haha.
