MIKA
"Okay...Worst place to meet a guy?" Cassandra asks while she examines the coffee shop for cute guys. Cassandra is tall, has shoulder length black hair, and has on her favorite necklace-- Africa painted with the Rastafarian colors. Cassandra was the activist of our group and is very proud of it.
We-- Cassandra, Courtney, Christine, and I, are sitting at a table close by the windows of the coffee shop. We are 'Boy Stalking'; we started this hobby when we were in 10th grade after a few of us got our permits.
"Oh, he's hot!" Cassandra says pointing with her index finger that is also holding her ice coffee.
I tilt my head to the side, moving my bangs out of my eyes, and look over the "hot" guy, "Ehh...He's a 7.5," I sip at my orange juice.
My friends turn and stare wide-eyed at me, "WHAT?"
After a few seconds of them starring at me oddly, I say, "What? I'm picky..."
"TOO PICKY!" Christine and Courtney grunt out. They go back to their drinks until Cassie notices that we haven't answered her question.
"Again, worst place to meet a guy?" Cassie repeats as she looks out the window.
"Facebook," Courtney says nodding her head.
"Nope, it's Twitter," Christine says with a chuckle.
"Coffee Shops," Cassandra says, watching as a businessman walks out of the shop. I choke a little on my orange juice. Once I stop coughing, I let out a giggle.
"What?" Cassandra says with a smile on her lips.
"Isn't that why we're here?" I ask. We sit for a few seconds before we all burst into laughter.
After the laughter subsided Courts asks, "So Mika, where's the worst place to meet a guy?"
My smile fades away, "School." I finish my orange juice and wipe my lips with my sleeve.
"But isn't that how you met Seth?" Christine asks, also finishing her drink.
"Proving my point," I say with a fake smile.
My two other friends were humming in agreement. Seth is my EX-boyfriend that was sweet at first but was just acting. He was really a jerk and an ass but I wasn't going to let him get to me now- he got to me once, and that's why I have changed.
We keep talking about random things until it's time to head back to school-- lunch is over. As we are cleaning up our mess and grabbing our stuff, Cassie turns to me.
"Don't look now," Cassie commands as she looks over my shoulder, "but that guy over there has been staring at you for awhile now."
I turn my head to see honey brown eyes staring back at me. When he notices I'm looking back at him, he grins and looks down at his muffin. I turn back to my friends and they are giving me that look, the "don't you dare annoy him or I'm going to kick your ass" look. Yeah, that one look can say a lot.
I let out a sigh in defeat and walk over to him. I take a seat across from him and get comfortable. He blinks a few times and I simply raise an eyebrow.
"Hi," he says moving his seat into the table.
I plaster on a fake smile, "Hey."
"I'm Aiden...and you are?" he asks.
"Mika."
"Very unique name," he says nodding with a grin.
A few seconds go by in silence and I grow tired of it, so, I decide to make the first move.
"So, is there a reason why you were staring at me?" I ask, fixing my motorcycle jacket.
He lets out a chuckle, "Well, since you don't know, you're hot...that's why I was staring at you."
"Haha! I like an honest man," he sits up more and has a cocky look, "But I don't like pervs." I get up to leave but turn back towards him.
"Bye Aiden," I give a small wave with a cheeky smile.
"I don't like goodbyes. See you later, Mika," Aiden says with a smile in his voice. I give him the "as if" look and head out of the coffee shop with my friends.
