AIDEN
I watch as Mika leaves with friends and get into a red Infiniti with tinted windows. Mika is driving and she pulls out of the parking space, heading down the street-- I'm guessing to school.
Speaking of school, I'm going to be late if Luke doesn't get here soon. We transferred to the local high school after joining our pack, Raging Leaf, with Shadow Valley. Raging Leaf was forced off the land after my father decided to sell the land and become the Alpha of both packs; Shadow Valley's Alpha stepped down and gave the position to my father since he, Shadow Valley's Alpha, didn't have a son.
I look down at my phone, Luke was running late. I look around the coffee shop and start to grow impatient.
Dude, where are you?, I telepath to Luke. Being a shifter had its perks; even though we are not close to each other, the telepathic bond can go as far as all four corners of America. (A/N: This is to say that from CA[west] to the border of Canada [North] to Boston [East], and to MS[South]. I thought this might be a little confusing.)
Haha, I was just about to ask you that, Luke telepaths back.
I let out a sigh, STARBUCKS!
Stop yelling, this is my head we're talking in, you twat, Luke replies before closing his link. Although all shifters in the pack are linked to each other, we can still block off (or block out) each other for how ever long we want.
Minutes go by and I stay waiting for my brother. By the time Luke came, I was done with half my muffin. Luke has his jet black hair in a mess, spiking out in every direction, showing that Luke had just woken up and throw on what ever was on his room floor. I staunch my nose in disgust and take a piece of my muffin, throwing into my mouth, to remove the image of Luke's dirty room out of my head.
Luke inhales through his nose and lets it out slowly through his mouth,"Was there a girl sitting here?"
"Yeah...?" I reply, not sure why he needed to know that.
Luke has a grin,"Did she talk to you willingly?"
"No, I pulled her from her friends and asked to be my best friend," I reply back with a dryness.
"Dude, I know being a new student is hard. You'll have a best friend eventually," Luke says with a laugh.
I glare at him, "A-hole..."
Luke raises and eyebrow, giving me a warning. Since we are shifters, werewolves most say, we have Alphas, Betas, and 2nd/3rd commanders. Since Luke is next in line to be the Alpha, Luke's wolf doesn't take well to disrespect, like normal people, but makes it difficult for Luke to stay calm or take a joke.
Luke is looking at the menu and notices that they have chocolate chip and raisin muffins. Luke gives me the two minute signal and rushes to the line.
Luke returns and takes his seat, "So...what's her name?"
"Not telling you," I reply, rubbing my nose and looking out the window.
"Dude!"
"Dude, not telling you. I want at least a chance with her before she meets you," I say shaking my hair out with my hand.
Luke shakes his head from side to side before letting out a chuckle, "fair enough..."

So, I hope you guys enjoyed part one of "New Kids"! I'm trying to make the story feel more like you're watching a movie-- the ones where the character pauses on certain parts to explain certain things.
Now you've met Luke, What do you think of Soon-to-be Alpha?
Or what do you think of Aiden? How do you think he feels about his brother? ---> Leave your thoughts below & I will read them and maybe leave a comment back!
Cheers!
