Lana stepped out of the sedan, with Alucard right behind her or rather too close, for comfort. The young woman crossed the parking lot, of an apartment complex, with a small grassy section. There was a detective waiting to show her the crime scene.
"Evening Dr. Liliana Draghicescu, on loan from the FBI's behavioral unit. Thank you for seeing me so quickly."
"Detective Scott Edwards of Scotland Yard."
Lana shook hands and walked with the detective to the grassy spot. "The killer placed the young woman's body here. Was she posed?"
"Yeah, I guess. Her body was curled up as if sleeping. The other bodies were posed with legs bent at the knees and spread out. Their arms over their heads," the detective was shaking his head.
"This woman was special, she meant something to him. The others were but sex toys and not humans in his eyes. What was special about this girl?" the profiler asked.
"She was a college student who planned to get a degree in psychology to help with abuse to women and children. She was a good kid with a future..."
"Versus the others? Prostitutes are always the first to become victims and the last to be seen as human. Did our victim here have abuse done to her as a child?" Liliana kept the questions up.
"Yeah, how did you know?"
Lana nodded her head slightly, "It makes sense, she wanted to help others when there was no one for her. That's what drew the killer to her. She was 'broken' but in a beautiful way in his mind. He felt sorrow when she died."
"What? I thought serial killers didn't get remorse!" the detective yelled.
"Sorrow is not remorse. He posed her body with almost love. Was she tortured?"
"Yes! What sicko loves a person but inflicts torture?" the detective was shaking.
For some reason Lana turned away and looked at Alucard. The profiler turned back around. "He was creating his 'bride' to be a mirror image of sorts to his pain. He was transforming her into his perfect mate, but she died before the transformation was completed. She most likely died last minute due to infection or such. He placed her body in the fetal position to symbolize she was still born. The unsub will most likely decrease the time between killings until he finds the right young woman to create."
Liliana walked over to where she thought the girl had been found and laid down. She spread her hair out and curled up with her arms across her chest. Her eyes closed and just laid there for a couple of minutes. Her body twitched a little then stopped. She opened her eyes and looked up at the apartment buildings.
The profiler jumped up and ran to one of the buildings. The doors were locked so she pulled a lock picking set and made quick order of the lock. Lana was jumping three steps at a time to reach the roof. Her left hand grabbed the doorknob for the roof but fumbled with it. As the door opened up quickly, she had lost her balance. The space on the roof was smaller, than it looked from below and her body hit the railing but instead of knocking her down, the rail lifted her body up and over.
Liliana only had time to scream as her body began to fall. Her scream stopped, when a deep male voice yelled, "Stop that screaming! I have you, foolish girl!"
Her body was yanked up and over the rail to be set down roughly. She tensed up and rolled over to sit on her butt. Alucard was angry with her but what scared her most, was his strength. He lifted her like she was a doll.
"Get up! What is it you needed to see, that warranted a nosedive off the building?" he growled.
Lana looked around and noticed shadows from apartment railings would have created shadows, like wings on the female victim.
