Liliana walked down the hall with Alucard behind her. She kept going, past Sir Hellsing's door. The profiler heard him stop. She turned around and looked at the man.

"Reporting in I take it. Going to give your boss, the recommendation, that I be relieved of the case? Then you can ship me home and be done, having someone pricking your ego," she paused. "Sorry... kinda been a bitch. Take care Alucard. I felt kinda safe for a couple of hours around you."

Alucard watched her head on down the hall. He wanted to follow, but heard Integra calling him. The vampire stepped in and took a seat. He looked at Sir Hellsing and waited for her to ask questions. He was intrigued, why a girl would feel safe, around an inhuman monster. Then again, she thought he was just run of the mill killer with sexual issues. He smirked at that thought. She had been right about strong women, so that was why he pushed Police Girl, to become a strong female. It also had been a while since he got laid to, so truth to that statement.

"Alucard, you're thinking and not talking. What are you up to?" Sir Integra scoffed at him.

"I was thinking on, our discussion in the car. Liliana was explaining, to Police Girl, how to handle me and not to get upset. The profiler will most likely want to know, why I haven't' been fired, for sexual harassment," the vampire simply stated as he was doing nothing wrong.

"I sometimes wonder why; I don't file them with Penwood. You are quite the menace," she sighed with fatigue.

"Aah so you do love it! I know a great little secluded spot here at the manor to show me..." Alucard said suggestively.

"More like, love to kill you, but your stalling vampire..."

"Vlada is actually very good at her job. She seems to be able to get in the mindset of the killer. I had to save her, from falling off a roof in her excitement, to reach the top of an apartment to see what the killer was looking at, when he dumped the college student's body," Alucard was actually serious on the topic.

"What did she say about it?"

"The killer was trying to create a mate that understood him. The young woman most likely died unexpectedly and so he placed the body curled up like a baby and the shadows from the railings gave her the appearance of wings..." His mind was on how she mimicked the victim's body and how she had looked like an angel resting.

"Anything else to report?" Sir Integra inquired.

Alucard cleared his throat, "She's not happy with her doctor. Dr. Stims called, as we were leaving and is going to highly recommend, she be pulled from here and sent back."

"Okay, why? You said she was good," Integra had a concerned look.

"Remember her mention one serial killer wandering around? That one killed her entire behavioral team and left her alive, in his hands for a month. The man left her in a pit with rotting corpses of her co-workers. She had to resort to eating the maggots from the bodies. He just up and dropped her off in a safe place. That was three months ago plus a month in a hospital."

"Well, that settles it servant, she's off," Integra stacked some papers.

"No, she's not. Vlada is doing remarkably well and has insight into the dark workings of the mind. She's just a scared little girl, who needs someone, to believe in her. She commented before I came in, how she had felt safe with me. Vlada reminds me of a girl back in my human time, who suffered at the hands of a similar type of man. I wasn't there to keep her safe but maybe I can be for this Vlada."

"A monster seeking redemption?" Sir Hellsing asked.

"I'm not totally altruistic, in my doings, she's kinda hot when she insults me with her intellect."

"Alucard! She's too young for you! She's barely even old enough to go out drinking."

"She's old enough today...no master I am a monster but not a cruel, fucking one. If she shows interest, then I might consider. After all, all human females are technically, too young for me."

The Vampire King decided to stay out of his room for a bit longer. The library had a light coming out from under the door. No one went in the library except Walter and him, so it had to be Liliana looking for Frankenstein.

"I figured it was you Vlada, I am about the only one, who comes here anymore."

"It's such a beautiful library. I could get lost in here for days and not care," So she decided not to correct him. she was smiling as her fingers traced over old book spines.

"Aah just the book. Oh, its first edition! I shouldn't even be handling this! I will order one from online."

"Read it...books need to be read, not put on a shelf to be preserved," Alucard stated.

The vampire sat down and studied the chess board, located on an ornate oak table. His eyes studied the pieces and then chose black, to play the next move. Lana watched the move from the corner of her eyes. She just found her chess player. The young woman strolled over and looked down.

"Hmmm...I wondered who had this set up," Her fingers moved a white chess piece and took his pawn.  "You're going to have to do better than that to warrant a game on my antique chess board, the bureau gave me. That was rather a novice move..."

"Little girl you are going to tell me how to play chess?" Alucard scolded her.

"Yes, until you remember how to play of course," Lana smiled and slapped his upper arm. "it's a joke!"

"My Master says you can stay on and won't take your dr. Stims recommendation, to remove you from this case." His eyes focused on his next move.

The profiler sat down in the chair across from Alucard and studied him intently. "Did you not tell her, about my yelling, at Dr. Stims?"

"I did and my Master wanted to pull you, but I stated, I backed you up. You show potential, for so young an age. I actually could have had a good use for you, what feels like another lifetime ago..." his voice trailed off as in thought or memories.

"Why do you call your boss, Sir Integra, your Master? Is it something like Walter being a butler?" Liliana focused on his face, but no emotion crossed his face

"Something along the same lines..."

"Aaah, then keep your secrets for a bit longer if you must...prince," she whispered.

"Why did you call me by that title?" his shaded eyes lifted and looked at her.

"I really don't know. It just came into my mind for some reason. I should get back to my room and try to sleep, so I don't need to lie to my doctor," she smirked. "Thank you for wanting to take a chance on me."

The Shadow King watched her rise and stroll to the door. Her jacket was gone to reveal her figure better. She was selling herself short on looks. Her eye color was not the rarest but unusual. He had a distant cousin, female with that color of eyes and dark brown hair, long ago when he was on his second reign as Voivode of Wallachia. Her name had also been Liliana Draghicescu, too.

Alucard phased down to his room and placed himself on his throne. His blood packets sat on a table next to his right arm. Vlada, as he would refer from now on, was a curious girl and had proven capable of picking locks. He needed to make sure she didn't find his room yet. He could see her running, from him, if she knew the truth.

The vampire sat for hours, deep in thought about his ancestors and where Vlada could be related, to the family. His eyes quickly opened when he heard faint screaming. His mind wandered out to find the girl's sleeping mind, but she wasn't sleeping, anymore. Her mind was a scramble of flashing images of her captor, disguised but Alucard could hear the man's voice in her head. The rushing sensation of pain, from his torture, was fresh in her mind.

It was at that point Alucard decided no matter his relationship to the young girl, he would find the man that did this to her, even if it meant disobeying his Master. He would show the serial killer what a true monster was. Impalement had been his speciality, perhaps a refresher course for the human, who had hurt her was a good start?
