Not knowing what to say, Tony pulls her to him and just holds on to her as she cries. Sitting there with Lilly, Tony didn’t know what to do for her. She was upset and he needed to get back to North Carolina. Pulling her away from him he said “Lilly, will you come with me? Come back with me to North Carolina. Get away from here for a couple of days. I’ll fly you back when you’re ready. I’ll talk to Grace and tell her you will be working from my house. And I even talked to the Boss for you!” She smiles and say’s “I- I don’t know. I shouldn’t take time off. I just started he-” Tony puts a finger to her lips and say’s “I said I already talked to the boss. Please Lilly. I promise to take your mind off of him. Let me help you heal.” Tony gives her his best irresistible grin.
“Okay, but Tony you don’t need to do this. You don’t even know me! I’m just someone that works for you.” Lilly says with sad eyes.
Tony looks at her and shakes his head “You don’t know me very well, Lilly. My workers are more to me than just workers, they are family. And you are hurting and I want to help.”
Lilly couldn’t think of anything to say, so she did the only thing that she could think of, she hugged him.
“Do you trust me Lilly? I want to do something, but I need your trust, I need you to understand, this is me trying to help you heal. Will you come with me? We have about a hour before we need to leave for the airport.” Tony say’s.
“I trust you, Tony. I know you will never hurt me.” Lilly say’s while wiping the last of the tears away.
Tony stands up and grabs her hand and leads her down the steps. Once they reach the bottom, Tony heads for the flag stand.
Not knowing what he is up to Lilly asks “Tony, where are you taking me? I can’t go on the track!”
Tony stops at the gate, and say’s “Just trust me Lilly.”
Nodding her head, she follows Tony down the few steps that leads her to the track.
