Chapter 26

Tony was sitting in a chair in the waiting room, with his elbows on his knees and his head in his hands wishing there was something he could do. He didn’t hear anyone come in, until Krissie touched his shoulder and he looked up at her with worried eyes.

Krissie pulls him up out of his seat, and gives him a hug and whispers “She’s going to be okay Tone.. I know everyone has said it, but she really is going to be okay. What can I do to help you?”

Pulling back he say’s “Go with me when I talk to the Doctor. I don’t know what to ask, and I.. I just can’t think.”

“When are you to see the Doctor again?”

“As soon as the nurse comes and get’s me. She had to clean Lilly’s wounds and she kicked me out of the room.”

Nodding her head, Krissie takes Brooklyn, from Ryan and gives hands her to Tony.

“Let B cheer you up till you go back. She’s great at putting others in a better mood.”

Tony sits down with Brooklyn, and talks to her. Feeling him self relax, he looks up at Krissie “Thanks Krissie.”

Ryan sits down beside him and say’s “What can I do? Is there anything you can think of that you need taken care of?”

“If you could call the police station and see if there is anything I need to fill out. I talked to a officer named Luke at the house. I don’t know when they are coming here, but a little bit of a heads up would be nice.” Tony tells him.

Nodding his head Ryan say’s “Anything else? Do you know if you can go in your house?”

Shaking his head no, he say’s “I didn’t even think about that.. I bet I can’t..”

“Don’t worry about it. You can stay with Krissie and I till you can get back in your house.”

“Thank you. I don’t know what I would do with out you guy’s.”

Tony started to look around the small waiting room. It was filled with people he worked with at SHR, other drivers and friends of his. Feeling like he needed to say something he hands Brooklyn off to Ryan and stands up and say’s

“Can I just say something real quick.” Once they were quite Tony goes on “I just want to thank you all for being here. It means a lot to me, that you all came to support me and to be here for Lilly. She has some cuts, and a sprained wrist and they had to take our her appendix since the bastard hit it with his knife when he stabbed her. She hasn’t woken up yet, but they expect her to any moment.” Not wanting to tell them about the rape test, he adds “Thanks again.. It means more to me than you guys will ever know.”

Looking each one of them in the eye, they all smiled, and he knew that they truly wanted to be here.

Marline walked into the waiting room, and motioned for Tony to follow her. Snagging Krissie, he walked out and followed Marline. The doctor was standing outside the door, and waited for Tony.

“Hello again Tony.”

“Hello Dr. Montgomery. This is a very good friend of mine Krissie. Krissie this is Dr. Montgomery.”

“Nice to meet you” they say in unison.

“What did you find out?” Tony asks him.

“The x-rays came back, and there is no sign of anything broken. Her left wrist is severely sprained. He must have had a good hold on it. The Cat Scan came back and she has a slight concussion. We gave her some medicine to help her relax more, and they should be wearing off here soon. She should be waking up with in the hour. The bruising on her neck, didn't harm anything, it’s simply just bruises. The rape test came back.. Thankfully it came back negative.”

With a relived sigh, Tony and Krissie hug each other. Thankful for some good news.

“If you don’t have any questions, I will leave you see Lilly. I’ll be leaving here in about 3 hours, but the doctor coming on, I will fill him in. Now all we have to do is wait for her to wake up.”

Shaking the doctor’s hand, he opens the door and walks inside, with Krissie behind him. Going for his chair that he left a short while ago, he goes to Lilly’s side and whispers in her ear “Okay, Lilly girl.. You can wake up now..” Giving her a kiss on the top of her forehead, he sits down in his chair, picks up her hand and waits for her to wake up..

Krissie quietly walked out of Lilly’s room. Tony had just fallen asleep, and Lilly had yet to wake up. The Doctor and a few nurses had been in to check on her. They weren’t to worried that she hadn’t woken up yet, so she tried to not let it show that she was worried.

Walking down to the waiting room, it looked like most of the crowd of supporters had left. Only a handful of them were there, and they looked beat. Brooklyn was asleep on Aaron’s shoulder, and he looked like he was about to fall asleep him self. Denny and Kasey were talking and poor Ryan was asleep with his legs all stretched out, and he was slouched down in the chair almost falling out of it. With a slight giggle, she walks over to him and wakes him up.

“Hey guy’s, why don’t we all go on home, and get some rest. Tony is asleep, and isn’t leaving Lilly’s side. She still hasn’t waken up. But the Doctor’s aren’t worried. Let’s go home, shower get a few hours of sleep, and come back in the morning and see if we can help Tony in any way.”

Krissie takes her daughter out of Aaron’s arms, and gives her a kiss on her head. Ryan get’s out of his chair and stretches.

They walk a few steps, and realize that no one is following them. “You guy’s going home?” Ryan asks them.

“The cop told us to stay here. And I want to stay here in case Tony needs one of us.” Aaron tells them. Kasey and Denny nod there heads, agreeing with Aaron.

“Okay, we will be back in the morning.” Krissie tells them. “Call me if something happens, please.”

“Will do Krissie” Aaron tells her.

After they left, Aaron, Denny and Kasey walked down to see Tony and Lilly.

Opening the door quietly, they step inside and walk towards the bed.

They made a small open circle around the end of her bed, and just watched her. Not wanting to wake either of them, they started to sit around the room, just to be there to support both of them. Denny grabbed the chair next to the bed, Kasey found the window seat, and Aaron found another chair on the other side of the room. He quietly picked it up and took it over and sat it next to the window where Kasey was. They settled in, for what looked to be a long, restless night.

Denny couldn’t seem to fall asleep. Aaron and Kasey seemed to fall asleep with in a few minuets of sitting down. But he just couldn’t fall asleep sitting this close to Lilly. She was beautiful, and once he had seen her, he felt protective of her. He couldn’t explain it. But she took his breath away. Standing up quietly, he leans down to her so she could hear him whisper.

“Hello, Lilly. My name is Denny. Please wake up soon.” Giving her a kiss on her forehead, he sits back down in his chair, places his hand on her hurt wrist, and watches her sleep
