I'm skipping the fighting scenes for now because I'm unsure how to exactly write them but enjoy this chapter:)

Today, was the day Kanao and Y/n would head to Final Selection, to officially become a member of the Demon Slayer Corps, well that is if they survive.
"Hey Kanao, you excited for Final Selection!?" Y/n asked with a wide-eyed smile, Kanao only flipped her coin, landing on tails "Tails huh, what is it?" Y/n asked the quiet girl with a confused look on her face.
Kanao only sped up ignoring the girl, "Hey get back here dammit!" Y/n yelled with smoke coming out of her ears. Kanao only sped up leaving the girl to chase her.
Y/n and Kanao finally arrived at Final Selection only to wait for it to officially begin, after some time two identical children appeared, one with black hair and the other with white
"Welcome to the final selection, we are glad that you were able to make it," the two children said at the same time with no expression whatsoever "Now let's begin".
Y/n walked ahead of Kanao into the final selection forest, out of curiosity and excitement. Y/n turned her head back to Kanao "So, Kanao yo... Kanao?" only for the strange girl to be gone
"damm that jerk" Y/n muttered under her breath. Y/n wandered around for some time hoping to run into a demon and Y/n got what she wished for,
Y/n heard a stick snap in the distance and a matter of seconds she pulled her blade out and got into fighting stance "Look what we got here, finally some decent food" a demon said in a groggy voice finally making his way out of the shadows...Y/n sighed "finally" Y/n said with a confident smirk.
After seven days Y/n and Kanao both survived Final Selection and made their way back to the Butterfly estate, hoping to rest when they arrive home only to receive a mission alongside Shinobu.
