Chapter Nine:)

Genya's pov

"Get them out of here!" Y/n yelled at me gesturing to the kids in the corner of the room 'So that's what she was staring at, what a dumbass' I thought to myself jumping into the room and escorting them out of danger. Once I knew they were safe I immediately headed back towards Y/n to provide her assistance.

 As I headed back to the building, I noticed a trail of vines heading towards the back of the building and up into a window. I jumped onto the window seal only to see a demon sitting in a large room with vines and weeds coming out of its body.

 I took a chunk out of a vine beside me and eating it, feeling myself turn into a demon. Pulling out of my gun and shooting its head. 

The vines went haywire as they flung all over the room, dodging them and trying to make my way to the demon before its head regenerated.

 I pulled my blade out and slashed the demon's neck watching the remaining part of its head fall to the floor, its body began to disintegrate along with its vines. 

'I should get out of here before that girl comes' I thought to myself "Shit!" I hear a females voice curse out turning my head over to the doorway to see Y/n standing there with her blade out launching herself at me. 

Y/n's Pov

I couldn't take my eyes off the girl, my legs felt weak and tears starting to form. I could sense the vines heading towards me, but I could not move. 

A loud booming sound made its way to my ears snapping me out of this so-called trance "Breath of the Cherry Blossom Tree: First Form A Petals Dance" I mumbled under my breath striking the vines inches from my body "Get them out of here!" I yelled gesturing to the kids in the corner.

 Genya nodded proceeding into the room and escorting them out. I continued to dodge and slash at the weeds, eventually, a large herd of them were coming my way "Breath of the Cherry Blossom Tree: Third form Blooming Beauty" I mumbled to myself, slashing my blade towards the herd of vines, giving myself a few seconds.

 The vines kept coming, I soon decided to head down the hall, the farther I went the stronger the weeds became. 

The vines began to disintegrate a sigh of relief left my mouth, realizing I was now at the end of the hallway looking up to see Genya as a demon

 "Shit!" I cursed out, jumping at him to slash his head off only for him to dodge my attack "Wait you dumbass!" he screeched at me, of course, I didn't listen and went to strike again, only for him to dodge once again and leap out of the window.

 I followed him.

I've been following him for some time now, I chased him into the woods. 'why is he being so difficult' I mentally groaned to myself feeling mentally exhausted. He keeps swearing at me and avoiding my attacks. He turned around a large tree trunk so did I, but when I turned, he was gone. 

"where is he?" I groaned to myself, a few seconds later I was pushed onto my stomach and the ground feeling a heavy amount of pressure on my spine and wrists. 

I turned my head back to see Genya pinning me down, his knee digging into my spine and his hands holding my wrists down. 

The grip around my blade loosened and I let it go. "Why is your face so red?" I asked already knowing why "shut up" he mumbled under his breath looking away, feeling the pressure on my knee and wrists lighten "I'm gonna let you go" he explained still look away.

 Taking this as an opportunity, swinging my hand at his head and grabbing my blade with the other, he was now on his knees hunched.

 Jumping up, bringing my blade up to strike down on his neck. Only to be disturbed by my crow "don't kill him!"

 he yelled into my ear pecking at my head "Why he's a demon!?" I yelled back in an exasperated tone "He's able to turn into a demon by consuming demon flesh" 

my crow explained to me with sparkle around his head "huh" I groaned looking down at the boy watching him as he slowly got up and proceeded to walk away. 

"Where are you going?" I asked him only for him to ignore me.

 So, I decided to follow him talking and constantly asking him questions, he still ignored me. I watched as irk marks appeared on his face.

 He plopped onto the ground sighing as he did. I watched as his features turned back to those of a human. "Is this why you have appointments with Shinobu-san?"

 I asked tilting my head, "yeah, I don't think she likes me very much" he sighed "nonsense, Oonesan likes everyone" 

I spoke in a determined voice pointing a finger at him and sitting on the ground in front of him. 

"I see your still aggressive with girls" I said in a low tone, watching his face turn bright red and looking away mumbling things under his breath, I laughed watching as the boy became more flustered. 

My crow eventually swooped down giving us both another mission "a joint mission, huh looks like your stuck with me for a bit" I said with a wide-eyed smile, I got up starting to walk Genya following behind me. 

I stopped to look at him "Genya, don't fall for me, I'll break your heart" I said in a jokingly manner pointing a finger at him, giving him kiss lips and a wink.
