𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞

Chapter Twenty-six:)

Y/n's eyes slowly fluttered open, she sat up examining her surroundings I'm in the butterfly estate, a hospital bed... what happened?' Y/n thought rubbing the back of her head.

 A familiar black-haired boy caught Y/n's attention, Genya sat on a stool his head laid down onto the mattress, grumbles left his mouth as he slept. 

Y/n stared at him for a moment as a small smile formed on her face "You know, he's been worried sick about you," Y/n looked up to see Aoi standing in the door frame. 

Aoi walked into the room closing the door behind her "drink this" Aoi spoke up handing Y/n a cup of medicine.

 Y/n did as she was told and placed the cup back into Aoi's hand, Aoi pulled up a stool and sat on the opposite side of Genya.

 "How long has he been here for?" Y/n asked as she looked at the black-haired male "A few days. He carried you here and refused to leave when he was asked to" Aoi responded "So I was asleep for a few days, huh" Y/n spoke out, Aoi humming in response.

 "Where are Shinobu and Kanao?" Y/n asked "they left early this morning on a mission" Aoi responded. 

 "Shinobu-san was really upset with Uzui-san," Aoi said looking down as she fidgeted with her fingers "you almost died at some point too, Shinobu-san was really upset about it and assumed the worst" Aoi continued. 

"You went instead of me and nearly died in the process" Aoi sniffled as a teardrop rolled down her cheek "Geh! Your crying, please don't cry Aoi. It's fine really, I didn't die so it's okay" Y/n said as she wiped away Aoi's tears.

 The room was filled with silence for a few minutes as Aoi cried "Hey Aoi~" Y/n sang "I was hurt pretty bad out there you know... I don't think I'll survive this recovery process without eating some f/f, do you think you could help me out?" Y/n spoke out with a mischievous smile. 

"Well, when you put it that way, I can't say no" Aoi responded, the two girls had a moment of silence before they burst out laughing. 

Genya mumbled something as he turned his head, his actions caused the girls to calm down. Aoi stayed for a little longer, Y/n and Aoi talked for some time before Aoi was requested to help some of the new coming patients. 

 A few days later

"Well looks like you've made a full recovery Y/n!" Kiyo cheered "are you going to start your missions soon?" Naho asked as she tilted her head "of course!" Y/n exclaimed giving a thumbs up. 

"Y/n can I ask you something," Sumi asked as she tugged on Y/n's uniform shirt, Y/n nodded in response taking a sip of her water. 

 "what's your relationship with Genya?" Sumi asked with sparkles in her eyes  "Yeah, tell us Y/n!" Kiyo chirped "does Genya like Y/n?!" Naho exclaimed "Yeah! Does Y/n like Genya!" Kiyo exclaimed with a wide smile. 

Y/n choked on her water surprised by the girl's questions "what makes you say that" Y/n coughed out "because when you were asleep, he refused to leave" Sumi spoke out. 

"He gets all shy and red whenever your around" Kiyo added 'I mean, he does that for all the girls' Y/n thought as a sweat gland appeared on her forehead.

 "He even made sure your uniform was clean!" Naho said with a smile "we're just friends really" Y/n spoke out waving her hands in front of her "awh" the girls whined. 

Y/n laughed "you girls are funny" Y/n spoke out flapping her hand the three girls tilted their heads staring at Y/n.

 A series of loud cries made their way down the hall along with screaming "No Aoiii!" Zenitsu screeched "if you want to recover you have to drink your medicine!" Aoi yelled back.

 "We're going to help Aoi-san!" Naho giggled jumping off the bed along with Sumi and Kiyo "See you Y/n-san!" the three girls yelled out leaving the room closing the door behind them.

 'I should change' Y/n thought looking over at her folded uniform laid down on her bed beside her, Y/n sat up from the bad.

 Y/n changed her into her demon slayer uniform placing her sheath into her belt, a knock was heard from the other side of the door. 

"Hmm, come in" Y/n yelled out looking at the door the door opened a familiar red-faced boy stood there looking up at the ceiling. 

Y/n's eyes were drawn to the plate/bowl in his hand "is that f/f!?" Y/n yelled out with a wide-eyed smile "yeah... Aoi asked me to bring it to you" Genya mumbled "Great thanks!" Y/n spoke out taking the food from Genya. 

Y/n sat on the bed and began eating the food, Genya stood in the doorway looking very flustered "you can come sit down you know" Y/n spoke out patting the spot beside her. 

Genya sat down next to Y/n looking down his cheeks slightly puffing up "are you okay?" Y/n asked poking his cheek "yeah" Genya mumbled. 

"Want some?" Y/n asked as she held her chopsticks up in front of him "I'm okay" he mumbled looking down "just eat it" Y/n spoke out holding the chopsticks in front of his face. 

Genya gulped as he opened his mouth eating the food "see was that so bad" Y/n spoke out with a smile "thank you" Genya mumbled as Y/n began eating again.

 A few moments later Y/n's crow flew into the room "caw Y/n and Genya head northeast northeast caw!" the crow yelled, Y/n groaned grabbing her haori and leaving the estate with Genya behind her.
