Temari is pregnant!

A mission after a long time

It was an ordinary morning in Konoha. Temari was on her feet all morning due to a crying Shikadai. Right now, the baby was only 16 weeks old but he was already developing teeth. Due to that, he was crying a lot the past few days.

In general, the past 4 months were quiet in the Nara household. Shikamaru was trying to reduce the hours that he spent in the Hokage's office, as he wanted to be there for both his wife and his son. Temari knew that that wouldn't last for too long. She knew that with Shikadai growing up her husband would return to his previous self, but she wasn't complaining. She understood Shikamaru's needs and his desire to help the village.

However, she wasn't expecting that he would be assigned on a mission away from home that early.

"For how long will you be gone?" Temari asked

"Not too long. Only for 2 nights" Shikamaru replied without looking at his wife, and while packing his stuff. "I have to do that. Sasuke was the first choice for this mission, but he was called in another urgent mission; and as Sai is away, I was the only option".

"Yeah, I know that. I just that you haven't been on an away mission for too long" the blonde woman claimed. Now she was facing her husband. The light in the room was coming in from the window in their bedroom. Shikamaru's hair was glowing under the sunlight.

"You know that I wouldn't take that mission if I didn't have to", the pineapple-haired man said, finally looking to his wife.

"I know" Temari whispered. "It is just the first time that I would be completely alone with Shikadai for two nights".

"Don't worry about that. I have already contacted my mother. I would wait for her before I leave".

"Thank you".

After less than an hour Yoshino was knocking on the couple's door. Shikamaru was the one who headed to open the door.

"Hey mom, thanks for coming" the Nara man greeted his mother.

"Hello Shikamaru" she smiled at her son and run towards Temari immediately to hug her. "How is my daughter doing? Are you alright Temari? Are my son and my grandchild giving you a hard time? Should I scold Shikamaru?", she finally asked.

Temari returns the hug to her mother-in-law. She was feeling relaxed with Yoshino. The older woman was always beside her, and Temari was grateful to her. She didn't know what it is like to have a mother, but she assumed that Yoshino was a good example. She could learn a lot from her. After all, her son is Shikamaru, she did a really good job.

"Yoshino, thank you for being here and agreeing to stay with us for the following 2 nights. I am doing fine, even though Shikadai keeps waking me up all night long. As for Shikamaru you shouldn't scold him, as I do that on my own", the blonde woman smiled and her teal eyes disappeared.
