A little jealousy (Part 2)

"Are you sure? Because someone told me that since you saw my sister with Mizune you are in a bad mood", the brown-haired man said while crossing his arms and wiggling his eyebrows at Shikamaru. "You know, if you want to ask me anything be free to do that. If I am in a good mood, I might answer you".

Temari asked her brother saying. What would Shikamaru need to know that he has to ask Kankurou?, Temari thought.

"What do you want to ask him Shikamaru?", both men were startled when they heard Temari's voice.

"..."

"..."

"..."

"Well? Aren't going to tell me what you two were talking about?", Temari asked while putting her arms in her waist. She was getting pissed.

"Shikamaru is good to see you. How are you?", Gaara took the initiative to break the silence among them.

"I am fine Kazekage-sama. I am here to deliver you a document from Hokage-same"

"Then let's enter the room", the red-haired man said and opened the door and entered the room. Behind him was Shikamaru; while Temari threatened Kankurou. "What were you talking about?"

"I ain't telling you! Now let me pass"

"Kankurou...", Temari said in a low angry voice, "DO NOT TEASE HIM! Am I clear?"

"Fineeeee..... Let's go inside. Geez!", the puppet master exclaimed.

"As you two were chatting, me and Shikamaru already finished", Gaara said while looking at his older siblings. "Temari, you can go and escort Shikamaru to his hotel, and for the rest of the day you are off".

"No. I am going with Shikamaru to his hotel, but after that, I will return. There are a lot of things that I need to do", Temari answered.

"As you wish. Shikamaru thank you for getting me the document, now you can rest. Before leaving come to my office again", Gaara said to the Nara man in front of him.

"I will do that. Thank you"

"See you around Mr. Gifted_with_all_the_intelligence_in_the_world",

"We are leaving then", Temari said and both of them exited Kazekage's office.

As they were walking down the stairs, Shikamaru experienced a weird silence between them. However, he did not try to start a conversation, he was still thinking about Temari's relationship with Mizune. He couldn't get out of his mind the close relationship that the two of them had. He knew though that Temari wouldn't lie to him, and she wouldn't be with him if she was in love with someone else. He had to stay focused and think calmly.

"So, are you going to stay at the usual hotel?", Temari finally asked.

"That's right. I haven't booked a room though. I hope that there would have a vacant room"

"I am sure it would be fine"

As they were walking down the street, they continued to small talk. They weren't saying anything deep and they didn't show any skinship, like holding hands. The hotel was only 10 minutes away by foot from the Kazekage's mansion. Thankfully, the hotel had a vacant room for Shikamaru, so they didn't have to go to the next hotel.

Shikamaru made all the needed arrangements, got his key from the male receptionist, and turned to face Temari.

"I need to go back to the office, but in a few hours, I would come to get you and show you around Suna", Temari said while having a huge smile on her face. "In the meantime, you should rest. You were traveling for 3 days".
