Temari is pregnant!

A Trip to Suna (Part 1)

It was after 8 o'clock, Shikamaru was wearing casual clothes as he and Temari just sat down to eat their dinner. While eating, the telephone in the Nara household rang, and Temari was the one to answer the call.

"Hello?", she paused. "Gaara how are you? Is everything alright?", she asked with a small smile on her face. She was happy as she hasn't talked to her brothers for more than a week. She missed them.

Temari was not talking for a few seconds, and Shikamaru assumed that she was listening to what Gaara had to say. Her expression changed. From smiling she frowned. Something must have happened, he immediately thought and stopped eating his food and focused only on Temari.

After a few moments of silence, he heard her say, "I understand. I will be there. I am going to leave today, by tomorrow evening I will be there. I know. I understand. See you soon", she concluded and put down the phone.

Before she could say anything, Shikamaru was already on his feet and got closer to her. "Are you alright?", he questioned the woman in front of him.

"Yeah", she responded while staring at her husband's face. "I just need to go to Suna"

"Why?"

"The Elders are getting impatient. They want to meet Shikadai and establish what we would do. You know that as the Kazekage's daughter, my child, if none of my brothers have children, is expected to be the next Kazekage", she explained as she went into the bedroom to pack small luggage for her trip to Suna.

"In the meanwhile, they are pressuring Kankurou and Gaara to convince us to live in Suna. However, none of them want to do that to us, and they are constantly fighting with the Elders. So, the other alternative solution to this issue is for them to get married and have children", she continued while taking multiple clothes with her. She didn't know how many days she would stay there.

From her movements, Shikamaru was able to understand that his wife was mad. Crap she is mad, he thought.

The relationship that the Sand Siblings had with the Elders of the village wasn't good. Since they started the alliance with Konoha, they were opposed to that as they declared "Konoha would betray us. We have to be ready for war". Furthermore, when Temari started dating Shikamaru, they opposed their relationship, as they thought that the Konoha man would take advantage of the Suna woman and lure her to expose the village's secrets to him.

Moreover, when their relationship became stronger, the Elders were trying to get Temari married to someone from their village. When Temari found out what they were trying to do, she lectured them. Lastly, since they learned about Temari being pregnant, they were pressuring the couple to move to Suna and train their child under Suna's guidance. Once again, Temari was against their opinion and did what she thought was best.

As he was listening to his wife, and thinking the Elders of Suna village, he rested on the bedroom doorframe with his were crossed and his hair in the usual ponytail.

"Do you have to go?"

"I wish I didn't have to, but I can't overlook it this time", she answered without looking at him. "This time they have gone too far. I can't let my brothers be pressured like that. I need to go there and put everything back where belong. I need to", Temari turned to look at her husband.

"Do you want me to come with you? They already asked you to bring Shikadai with you", he said as he was approaching Temari.

The couple was facing each other. Temari's eyes were furious. He could see a wrinkle in the middle of her eyebrows, and her forehead veins were visible. Shikamaru raised his hand and touched her forehead. "Relax", he told her in a whisper.
