Hugo glanced at the phone, staring at it in astonishment. His brother had hung up on him. He had barely gotten the word, "Hello," out of his mouth, and the next thing he knew, he heard the beep-beep sound that indicated no one was on the other line. He exhaled through his nose. "He doesn't want me to bug them now, huh?"

"Who?" Kevin asked. Because his friend had arrived late last night—and partially because of the unexpected discussion too—he had slept over, and he wasn't the only one.

Sitting comfortably across him at the dining table and eating cereal for breakfast was Ryan, who said, "That was quick."

Hugo decided that he'd call later, and maybe this time—no, for sure—he'd only converse with Hana. "He hung up on me."

"He's really at her place?" the two men at the table questioned.

Yesterday, after the four men's talk, Hugo had invited his guests to sleep over since it was already morning by the time their long, excruciating talk had ended, and though Ryan agreed because he figured that Logan would too, Logan, instead, rejected the offer, saying that he wanted to go home and do some thinking. It was only after Logan had left had the three left-behind men realized that Logan wasn't going home.

Hugo put his phone away and recalled what had happened last night when he had arrived home.

When Hugo arrived home and saw his guests and the blank look on his friend's face, he had an intuition that he'd have another meeting.

A personal kind of meeting.

Kevin explained that when he went to pick up Hana and Lucas at the wedding, he had bumped into Logan and was identified as the person who had helped her "run away" from the younger man years ago. When he quoted "run away," he made sure to clarify that he was quoting it off from the actual source who had said it—Logan—in which the source was content with how it was cited. Kevin also brought up the two words Logan had used that didn't apply to the situation, and they were, "ex-wife" and "son."

Hugo ghastly looked at his younger brother. He didn't think his brother would say it in public to further complicate the relationship.

Once Kevin was done giving the backstory, he added that the two guests had arrived a few hours ago to confirm a few things.

But before any question could be asked and any answer could be given, Ryan was the first to speak.

"So, this is all true?" The youngest of the four tried to stay relaxed, but his confusion implied otherwise. "I mean, Logan and Hana knowing each other from before, and-and, they have a son—Lucas—and-and—"

The trio couldn't patiently wait for Ryan to pinpoint every single realization and connection he had just made, so they interrupted and said, "Yes," and starting from Hugo to Kevin and then to Logan, their "yes's" went from low to high and plainly to angrily—each is a respective response from their respective relationship with Hana.

Ryan upsettingly glared at Logan. "Why didn't you tell me that she had broken your heart years ago and is who you've been trying to find?"

"Because no one told me that she came back," Logan answered as he laid his eyes on his brother.

From what Logan had already assumed—and the list would most definitely not change much—Hana was the mastermind, knowing everything and anything. Following just slightly a few steps behind her was his brother, and even shortly after him, maybe Kevin—his brother's friend, who had been recently added onto his mental list of people that he had got to look out for. Next were his high school friends, but they might know just right about the same things as he did. And following even that group, Ryan was a step more informed than he was! Lastly, of course, he was at the very bottom of the hierarchy line of knowing anything related to Hana's and Lucas's well-being for the past six or so years.
