Victor continued to silently watch the friends from his distance.
Logan, still hugging Hana from the back, shouted, "Try to get me!"
Hana giggled while being dragged away from Lucas by Logan. "Let go! Guys, help me!"
Logan let out an evil laugh and challenged his innocent son sitting on the grass. "You can never save this girl's life! She's mine! Mine, I—"
Thanks to a light blow to his stomach by Hana, she freed herself. "Ha, what now?"
Pretending to be in pain, he growled as he crouched down to the floor." You—! You! Come...back...here!"
Hana ran over to Lucas and picked him up. "Enough of your act. Let's go home." She made Lucas stand in front of her while she held his hands to help him walk.
Logan brushed the grasses and dirt from his legs and took Lucas's other hand. "Fine, I will get the princess next time." He pointed down to Lucas. "And the prince will have to save her."
The virtual couple laughed at their inside joke and started walking.
Jake ran to them. "Don't forget me, guys!"
The friends looked at him holding onto all the trash.
"Logan, you were supposed to help me clean up the trash since we lost together," whined Jake.
Logan nudged Hana with his free hand. "Don't blame me. This man-girl cursed me before the game. That's why we lost."
Hana glared at him. "I did not. It's not nice to lie."
Hailey and Seth laughed from behind the virtual couple.
Seth said to them, "Wow, you guys really could pass for a family."
Hana and Logan only smiled in response while they winced internally. They still hadn't gotten used to the word 'family' yet. If they were to choose, they'd prefer someone say that they were dating.
Jake tossed the trash into a trash bin and pointed to the left. "Hey, I'm going this way."
"We'll go with you," said Hailey. "We're that way too."
Victor stalked the virtual couple.
Logan and Hana watched their friends leave before heading toward their house.
Logan asked Hana, "So, no dress, huh?"
"Yep, no dress."
"I knew they'd be too pretty for you."
Hana took this chance to tease him. "Actually, there was this one dress with a cut so high, it surpassed my thighs." She whispered loud enough for him to hear, "You can almost see my underwear." She pulled back away immediately and saw Logan stiffened in response.
"Don't-don't-don't say that in front of Lucas!"
"I'm planning to get it." She pretended to think. "Hailey did say that we should expose some skin, and, well, this dress also has a front where—"
He immediately came to the front of her, blocking Lucas's path from walking, and covered her mouth with his free hand. "Shh!"
She burst into a loud laugh. She couldn't tell if he was red from the game he played or if he was red from blushing. But whatever it was, she loved it.
He couldn't even raise an eye to look at her.
She uncovered his hand from her mouth. "It's a joke! Do you seriously think I'd wear something like that to a party with a lot of people I don't even know?"
