the boy with the white eyes deleted scene number two — l hates school, like me

Michael had placed Luke on the counter top so he would stop running into corners. Mike finished placing yet another bandaid on the blonde’s elbow, “you need to chill.”

“It’s not my fault! Shouldn’t you have this house baby-proofed or whatever?” Luke asked, keeping his voice down so the sleeping five (almost six) year old wouldn’t wake up.

“I do, apparently not Luke-proofed, though,” he scuffed, closing the first aid kit and placing it above the fridge once more. The twenty-seven year old made his way in-between his boyfriend’s legs, forcing his body to be pressed into the counter.

Luke let his hands wander until he felt the fluff of Michael’s hair. He grasped his hands in it, softly rubbing at his scalp as he continued to complain about college and the American education system.

Michael wasn’t really listening. He had his own hands rubbing up and now Luke’s legs slowly, tracing a few shapes on his pajama-clad thighs.
Luke looked good in anything and everything, and that made Mike insecure. The black tee shirt on Michael was a little bit too tight on his lower stomach and at certain angles one could see his extracting stomach. Luke, on the other hand, looked great in his tie-dye tee shirt from some camp he must have volunteered at. It was tight on his broad shoulders, yet hung off of his body. His shoulders were skyscrapers.

“Baby, are you listening?” Luke asked. He was so sick of not being able to see if the person he was listening to was even in the same room. He had many suspicions that Cal and Mike would sometimes leave the room and leave him talking to the wall.

“Yeah, of course, sorry,” Mike answered, looking back up at Luke. His eyes weren’t simply just white. They had hues of blue poking out at the oddest of times, his true coloring trying to reach out. “You can continue, I’m listening.”

“Nah, it’s alright,” Luke sighed, letting go of Michael’s hair.

Michael leant up, kissing the other boy softy, letting his lips linger for a few seconds. “You’re an amazing human being, and I know college is hard, but you’ll make it out,” he reminded him once again.

Luke curled his ankles on Michael’s lower back, pulling him even closer before resting his head on the top of Mike’s, “I love you.”

“I love you too.”
