No matter how many times he'd done it, waking up next to Andy was Ryes most favorite thing in the world. Pale skin glowing as sunlight filtered into the room. Longs eyelashes fluttering like butterfly wings over his pale but naturally blushed cheeks. Those soft puffs of breath he'd let out just to adjust himself further into sleep before he was peaceful again. Yeah, Rye was quite sure he was the luckiest man on earth.
Ryes little serene moment staring at his beautiful boyfriend was cut short as a needy whine was heard. He looked down and saw Romeo staring up at him with big doe eyes. He smiled, running his fingers through his hair. "Good morning baby boy" he said softly, leaning down to kiss his forehead. Romeo in turn closing his eyes as he leaned into the soft feeling.
Like most mornings, he said nothing. Only form of speech being a little huff as he climbed up higher into his arms. Rye smirked a bit as Romeo whined again, running his face against his shoulder to get comfortable. He was never quite satisfied until Rye got up and walked around a bit but Rye could this time because Andy was sleeping so soundly beside him. So he decided to hum a song instead.
Romeo had always loved Ryes singing. Whether is was his normal singing voice that was able to reach unimaginable notes and left him dazed, his quiet lullaby voice that pulled him to sleep on his sleepless nights, or his funny one he used when singing purposely off key. They all had special places in his heart and special jobs to do when needed. So Romeo softly patted him on the chest as he yawned out "lu'by."
"Coming right up your majesty" Rye whispered, kissing him on the head one last time before racking his brain for a soft song he could sing. He ultimately settled with you are my sunshine as it was both of their favorite. Mostly because Rye had told Romeo he was his little sunshine. But when he started, Romeo whined and shook his head.
"What, you don't want sunshine?" He said in confusion looking down at him, almost cooing at the little pout on his lips. He shook his head again and mumbled out "buhfly."
It took a few moments but Rye finally figured out what he meant "ah butterfly, okay." The song started out as just Rye randomly humming as he played with Andy's butterfly clips. It then turned into random little sentences written on napkins at the cafe which wasn't the best idea as he'd come home with pockets full of little napkins. Even so, it still wasn't finished but he added lyrics to the song each time he looked at Andy. That being said, the song was turning more into a song book than one singular song but Rye was okay with that.
"Okay let's see.... I've never known what pretty meant until I met you" he started off softly, rubbing his hand slowly over his back "but I quickly found out your face, your ways, your smile, your eyes is where it all lies." He snuck a glance over at Andy, nearly choking as he started into his now open eyes.
He looked at him expectantly, as if asking "where's the rest?" So Rye let out a little breathless laugh, looking down at Romeo who's eyes was closed but he could tell he was listening for just a little bit more. "and if you hadn't chosen to come to me that night" he says, eyes boring into his. Andy knew what that meant. Knew that what they had now could've never happened if he hadn't chosen to come back that night like he'd said. He'd thank the gods above every chance he got for making him keep his word.
"Chosen instead that away is where you wanted to fly" he continues, staring more intensely at him to make sure his words were reaching him and that he knew he meant his next words with every fiber of his being "then for you I'd search until I die because we were made to be, my little butterfly." And Andy cried more than he ever had in his life. Confessing his love through sobs and sniffles and Rye held him close in his other arm confessing back to him.
The morning had been spent with tears then naps as crying so early in the morning was very tiring and then later in the day they'd finally explored the amusement park. Romeo his full talkative self by then, pointing excitedly at everything he saw and Andy keeping up with just as much excitement.
Rye would never get over how amazing Andy was with kids. He could keep up with Romeos childish ramblings with his own and Rye could see they'd never get bored of each other. And Rye was especially cooing at their matching mini mouse themed ladybug hair clips they were wearing. Courtesy of Andy's little weak moment in the gift shop.
Rye just smiled as he quietly watched them. Swinging their intertwined hands as they basically skipped around and rode every ride they could patiently wait for and took pictures with each character they saw. Watching hilariously as Romeo nearly lost his mind seeing TinkerBell fly.
Then they settled down later that evening at a fancy restaurant where they talked and stared lovingly at each other while Romeo ate spaghetti messily and they'd cooed at him all the same because even if he was messing up the fancy white tablecloth, he was still so adorable with his tomato sauce smile.
And later that night after settling back into their big shared bed, Rye stared down at the two blonds occupying his chest. He looked at Romeo then he looked at Andy and wondered what he'd done to be so lucky? To have his little sunshine and his little butterfly in his arms is a feeling he would never ever get tired of.
