"N-no."
Kiera's mind was blank. She couldn't utter a single lie. As if Taehyung had cast a spell on her body, mind and soul. But this feeling was not something new. It was always inside Kiera when she was with Ace.
On the other hand, Taehyung felt proud of himself. He had captivated the Queen of Hearts. He gently nibbed Kiera's ear. He then slowly moved his warm lips on her neck and then tugged at the skin,
"But you get things when you earn them. So, better be a good girl Queen."
He turned his back on her and started walking. Kiera just smirked,
"Let's see how much time it takes for you to give in Hot Stuff. You soon are going to be on top of me. I swear."
She whispered to herself as Taehyung left the white room. Kiera laughed at herself. He truly was just like Ace.
She flopped on the bed. It was working. It was going just the way they wanted. The trap was made and the trap was working. It was just now the time that has to be looked after.Namjoon cleared his throat. He put up a confident attitude and walked right in. As soon as he walked in, his grip loosened on the steel tray. His jaws were hanging low. He stood there still.
Kiera was changing into the hospital dress. Her ribs were poking out of her honey skin. There were some really small yet intricate art on her beautiful body. Ink just looked right on her. There were bruises all over. But what attracted Namjoon's eyes were the fresh hickies on her neck.
"Any problem, Doc?"
Kiera said as she slowly walked towards him. Namjoon backed down and turned around,
"Sorry Kiera. I didn't mean to."
"Whatever! Listen, I don't even care if you see my body or what. I just want your help. You need to get me outta here."
"Why? You are sick. You need treatment. Besides, you would be far better here than those cells."
Namjoon picked up the things on his tray. He called for a cleaner to clean the floor and asked the nurse to bring another slice of cake and a cup of coffee for Kiera. Kiera rolled her eyes as Namjoon checked her pulse and breathing rate. Namjoon chuckled,
"Kiera, this cold act won't help you. Instead it would earn you more punishments from Taehyung. So, give in. We can be great friends."
Kiera crossed her arms and looked away. She didn't want to be friends. Queens have no friends. They have allies. Queens don't talk their heart out. Instead they know how to carve other's hearts out.
Namjoon sighed and sat near Kiera's bed. He scribbled some words on the file. Kiera just sat still on the bed. Namjoon stole a glance at her. He shrugged his shoulders. The air that reeked of antiseptics hit Jisoo's nose as she walked into the ward. She crunched her nose at the sickening smell. Her shift had just ended. But why was she here? Well, she wanted to check on Namjoon. The Queen was dangerous. And Namjoon was her friend. One of the dearest ones.
"Namjoon Oppa!"
Jisoo's heels made a screeching noise as she flung open the door. Kiera was asleep. Not asleep, maybe knocked out with a small dose of medicines. Jisoo didn't care. She was just happy to see her friend unharmed. She wrapped her arms around Namjoon's tall well built figure.
"I'm just glad that you are okay."
Namjoon hadn't uttered a single word. His cheeks just felt warm. He didn't have the guts to hug her back. He didn't want to ruin anything again.
Jisoo felt rather sad because of Namjoon. They both agreed not to remember anything except their friendship. Don't friends hug? Jisoo let go of Namjoon. It was all awkward. Had to be. But she couldn't force herself just to make him happy.
"What brings you here Jisoo-ssi?"
Namjoon's tone was awkward. He scratched the back of his neck. Jisoo played with her fingers as he her teeth sunk into her luscious bottom lips,
"Well, I just wanted to check on you Sunbae."
"Um... Thank you for your concern. Anything else Jisoo-ssi?"
Jisoo's face dropped. She bowed,
"No, Sunbae. I will take my leave. Take care."
It was all awkward between them. But neither of them was to be blamed. It was the silly heart after all.
Namjoon liked Jisoo. Way more than a friend. Namjoon had known her from way back. They were not the typical senior-junior. They were instead, good friends. They used to spend every second they got, with each other. There were numerous times when they had posed as a couple. The way they understood each other was uncanny. Namjoon started feeling something for Jisoo. He kept it inside for way too long. He grew more and more impatient. He was jealous of every boy who even dared to look at Jisoo. He even once bickered with Taehyung as he thought he was getting "too close" to Jisoo.
He knew it was wrong, but Jisoo was only his. Jisoo belonged to him only. After numerous pros and cons list Namjoon made about their relationship, Namjoon decided to go out on a limb and ask Jisoo out. He confessed how he felt.
But Jisoo never felt the same. Instead, she saw him just as a dear friend. Namjoon was the best man a woman could ever wish for. But she didn't just feel the same about him. He felt like a brother to her. Jisoo just didn't want to force herself into a relationship just for his happiness. She didn't feel the same warmth called love.
They wanted to stay friends. But couldn't they were just way too embarrassed for it. Namjoon was trying his best to move on. He still would be jealous when he saw Jisoo with another man. But atleast she was happy. Namjoon had thought of dating someone, but no other woman was Jisoo. Well, he has always convinced himself that it's only been a month. He will soon move on.Namjoon sank in the chair beside Kiera's bed. He felt hopeless. Maybe he was being way too cold towards Jisoo. But that's the only reaction his mind prepared, everytime he met Jisoo. He was just feeling helpless.
